I can only speak for those sold in the USA, in which you're correct that they were titled in the year sold. The K0 sloper came out in Jan '68 and was available at least up to May of '69, when the K3 was introduced. Honda really didn't care about Model Year until it was required in 1976. One of the things that helps pin down the year sold is that they had to meet certain DOT requirements regardless based on date of sale, which even had dealers updating things such as taillights and reflectors on models that were still on the show room floor when January came. The front fender reflector came out in '69 but was discontinued fairly early in the year because it didn't meet the height requirement which DOT had asked for. So then reflectors were moved up onto the top portion of the forks. So ergo, all Honda's with the front fender reflector are '69's, however not all '69's have the front reflector. Crazy, I know!

Those 175s were the end of an era, and are some of my favorite old Hondas. FWIW, I got a brand new Honda CL350 in the fall of 1969. It was sold as a 1970, though, even though it was a '69 appearance-wise, and it did have the front fender reflector.

Pretty much done with the moderate resto on my 1965 ct200. Decided to just do a good clean up and leave the 50 year old patina intact.

After tons of engine tinkering, a new plug wire/boot, and rebuild of the spark advancer unit seemed to do the trick! She starts first kick now. Having a blast cruising around the subdivision now.

Still have new f/r brakes and a new chain to install, but those are easy now that I've sorted the motor.

Here's one I just finished up a few weeks ago. It's a '68 CL175 K0 "Sloper" in Candy Orange

And the dealer brochure for that model

Edit: Ooops looks like I may have posted this bike earlier in the thread.

VERY nice

Yes, you posted it earlier, but it's worth looking at again.

LOL, Irrespective of the brochure, the seat piping was gold on the CL175, CL125 and CL90's in '68. The seat on that bike is the original, and no it was not silver to begin with and has later faded. Most seat replacement covers, such as on ebay, have silver piping which is incorrect.
A google image search of that model will show plenty other gold trimmed seats. Never the less you have a great eye for detail.

Here's my latest transformation
I just went from this ugly 1966 CL160....

torn it down to bare frame for new paint and parts...and starting here with triple tree, swing arm and center stand back to original.

...and now almost back together and ready to start!!!!

and a dealer brochure for this model in 1966. Don't be to picky because it's not quite completed. LOL

Looks great! My first was also a '66 160 Scrambler. Desperately wanted a new red framed 305 scrambler, but couldn't afford the $200 price jump. Parents said buy only what you can afford. Good advice, but really wanted that 305.

Cry

The red framed 305 Scramblers are one of my favorite Hondas as well. Mine has been posted on page 3 of this thread. Great fun to ride and I love the sound of them also. Front fender of mine is bobbed, but I'll be putting the original back on after I get the dent repaired on it.

My first motorcycle - 1966 CL77 Honda 305 Scrambler - bought it in 1969 after the friend of mine who owned it bought a DT-1 Yamaha.

I learned to ride on Hondas - from an S65 to a CB160 to the 305 Scrambler - I would grab a friends bike for a ride whenever it was offered to me. My dad didn't want me to have a bike but by the time I bought the 305 I'd been riding for four years. I love old Hondas.
