A little off topic but how about some pictures of the car next to your bike? Nice Guzzi BTW, but the car is interesting too! Hopefully you can find a set of cylinders/pistons easily. The Gilardoni sets are still on back order far as I know.

I'm planning to have the cylinders either nikasil or sleeved because the Gilardonis are on perpetual backorder. To keep this on topic I'll post my IG address theres more pictures of the forty there.

The 1000cc cylinders bolt on the 850 cases if you remove .75mm from the cylinder skirts (aprox. $100 machining costs). This conversion has been done countless times with no issues. The 1000cc cylinders are available as the original 1000cc cylinders last a long time due to steel liners. The bike will run much better with the upgrade.

Maybe. The 750 and 850 differ in stroke. The 850 to 1000 differ in bore and cylinder shirt outside dimension. I have converted a 750 sport into a 1000 (944?) by replacing the crank and cylinder sets. The engine runs great with this setup. This was on a Tonti framed bike. You would need to find out if a 850 crankshaft from a Eldorado fits inside the cases.
It may but check the dimensions of the bearings and distance in the cases. You will need special head gaskets that can be purchased from MG cycles.

Finally finished this 74 850T for a customer. Rebuilt the gearbox and clutch with all new seals, gaskets, upgraded clutch plates and 4mm spline engagement, new cam chain and spring-loaded cam chain tensioner, all new oil and fuel lines, Posh signals, etc. etc. etc. etc.

Its got a big fat red wire coming out of the dizzy like Dyna provide.

If so and origninality is an issue is there a reson the VHBs are still fitted?

It doesn't have a Dyna, it's still points. I suggested the Dyna to the owner, but he didn't want to do it. likewise with the carbs. I think he had reached his budget with doing the work that got done this time. It still needs some things, which I will probably do later on.

Nothing wrong with points. I would however, put a spacer on that alternator post-haste. It's a 14 buck part from MG cycle: http://www.mgcycle.com/product_info.php?products_id=784

Your stator varnish will thank you.
