What a great set of rides Dan! Thanks to you and KTM of Gresham for putting this on! I've been wanting to ride the Mt Hood dirt roads for awhile but most of my friends have street bikes and that's what I usually do. Unfortunately as pics will soon show I'm sure, one can't effectively use street riding techniques on the dirt. And after you pass someone in the gravel, it's generally not a good idea to grab a handful of front brake in order to make that corner up ahead. Guess who did that twice this weekend? However, the best way to get over a big get-off is to get right back up on the horse and keep going, which is what I did each time. Interesting to note that the Google site lists the Sunday ride as more difficult than Sat's ride, but I thought Sat's ride was much more difficult. Perhaps it was just me getting used to dirt riding technique after a day of doing it because I was flying down Abbott Rd and the other dirt roads. At one point I'm looking down and seeing 50mph! My bike felt really good and handled really well on Sunday's ride and it made a big difference that the suspension had been sorted out for me and my weight. It was a pleasure to meet you all and a special thanks to Mark for riding my bike up that steep hill on Sat! I'm really bummed that I'm not riding today, however my body was thanking me profusely for driving to work instead! Last night after I got home I felt like I had been run over by a dump truck with dumper strategically depositing it's load of gravel on me afterward. Also, I had some mild hypothermia with all the rain and wind we rode through. Took me quite awhile in the shower and heat afterwards to fully warm up. I guess I'll pay more close attention to the forecast next year and dress appropriately! I can't wait to ride more of the roads around Hood! Oh, and that lightning was amazing even if it was a really bad idea to be where we were at the time. I could go on about how much fun this was for me, but I've gotta go to bed and recuperate still. I can't say it enough- thanks Dan and Linda for putting in the effort to make this ride fun for all!!!!

Thank You!

Thank you everyone for participating and posting pictures of this years ride. We had riders from the Seattle area, and Eugene, Or. We had a great mix of new and returning riders all mixed together having great fun. Baroquenride was the only rider to participate in all three days, and he even stuck with it after all of his get-off's. See Ya next year. MY ADV

Dan, you might have the photos set to private in your picassa account. That might explain why you can see them but the rest of us can't.
