I saw them via CL and really want a set. They're expensive as hell but look worth it. I've never owned any saddle bags or panniers but im gearing up to take a big road trip and I've read a lot about the pros and cons of soft bags and panniers. Kinda wanna go the route of being able to lock up my belongings and not have anything stolen. Especially on my first long distance trip

It has been a year, how have the Solobox boxes stood up over time?

i ordered some over the phone with Eric a couple weeks ago.

He was transparent that I just missed a batch, and i would be in a batch he was cutting/welding then... and that after welding, he needed to send them to powdercoat.

I waited 2wks, texted him for status a few days ago.
He said he was expecting them back from Powder within a week or so....

//

Thus far, quick easy responses and customer service...

I have the racks (SWMOTECH), and Mounts (Happy Trails) all ready to go...

//

Interesting side note: I had HT's on my R1150GS and wanted them for my 1190 Adventure. I called them to inquire b/c I didn't see the 1190 on their page. I won't use the term Rude, becuase it's not quite accurate, but I would say they were non-interested and dismissive about my inquiry, as though they didn't care about a new model, didn't have plans or interest, and would be just as happy as ever if I took my business elsewhere for my rack and case needs. I happily obliged, but regrettably had to come back for the mounts....

My father in law and I just rode over from the peninsula and picked a full set up including the top box. Well made and good fit for his klr. Eric took us over off road to Oso to check out the big slide area. Good guy, good boxes. He is still working on some different designs and I think a couple of things could be improved on it I find things to improve on with anything. I would post pictures if I could figure out how but the boxes are great!

Bought a set of boxes and racks in November for a birthday gift to myself. I love them. The life completely come off, they have adjusted latches to close them to the boxes. Great powder coat finish. Mine were the first prototype of the "quick release" design. You could slide the boxes further away from your ankles or closer at your leisure.

I recently just finished the COBDR and they passed the test. No high speed spills but a few low speed ones and the boxes help up great. A few bends but the lids still close.

I'd give them 8.5/10 stars but I'm biased as these are the only boxes I've ever owned. And Eric also took me and another rider on what's called the "SoloBox Loop" in Skagit Valley

I ordered mine a week before you and he told me the same thing. I think he just says that so he can buy more time. still have not heard back from him

If you have been there it is a VERY small garage, and a one man operation. You can't make too many in there.
