Seattle north routes

I'm wondering about an interesting route to take out of Seattle to get me up to the North Cascade Highway.I'm on DL 650 with street tires so not looking to go off road as I'm plannong to be up near Osoyoos by the end of the day.
Thanks

Take 90 east to the Preston -Fall city exit [22] and travel north on state 203 to monroe. Take woods creek road north to Granite falls. From Granite, travel east to Darrington on the mountain loop hwy, then take 530 north to the hwy 20 intersection at Rockport.

to expand on what broke now... From HWY2 in Monroe turn north at the Taco Time to Woods Creek, Left onto Robe Menzel to Granite Falls. Left at the 4 way stop in Granite, right onto Jordan Rd, left on Arlington Heights to the light.

Turn right onto HW530 to Darrington, Left at 4 way and follow for about 10 minutes until you reach a Y leading to a metal grate bridge (you will have already rode over a metal bridge) (go across this bridge also). You will pop out in Concrete.

Go directly across town to enjoy views of Lake Shannon and the dams, etc. Come back and head east on HW20. At the top of Rainy Pass there is a lookout area on the left before the hairpin. Park in the area and walk 100yds on trail or so to a nice view.

Not to thread-jack, but what's the best way to make it back to Seattle without repeating the same roads? 97 down to Wenatchee and 2 back over the hill?

No best way for all animals, everyone likes something different. If I was behind the bars, I would take 97 south back to 20 and go east to republic and take 21 south to the keller ferry [free]. Or just skip Osoyoos altogether and the passport, have-you-ever-been-to-jail drill, and stay on 20 to republic. Ride from the landing up to wilbur and go west across the waterville plateau and down to orondo, then downriver to wenatchee. Take 2 west to blewett pass and into cle elum, 90 home to ?
In my book 90 is safer than 2 esp. completing a long ride and i'm tired. Will it bore you to tears? Sure, but it's getting dark anyway..

Lots of regional variations are possible, and they just get better. Do some exploring and accept some dead ends, you will find a lot.

Great route enjoyed it very much.Spent the night in Omak before crossing the border.Found a great Mexican restaurant in Omak and the Rodeway Inn was cheap and clean.

Glad it worked for you, as you can imagine, I've been that way a few times myself.
