It needs to have a monster expansion chamber pipe on it.

Is that how it came from the factory or is it a custom? Beautiful machine!

It was intended for production, but Puch went belly-up around that time and only a couple of prototypes were made.

I like the yamaha 200s they punch over their weight, brilliant fun and guaranteed when you get off it after a thrash and feel just like the world stoped spinning.

I always liked the styling and coulur scheme on the YDS7s they just loked so right for the bike and the time. The redish orange coloured 350 R5F less so attractive in my opinion.

The color is original and close to an option once available upon the r5's. Only difference is that they flip the white and the purple around

They are great, though reed valves would help give it some low end

Agreed the RD 200 sx was a nice little package, i prefered the early round tanked version over the coffin tanked bikes. Nothing wrong with the latter RDs just my personal preference on styling.

That a very nice looking original bike!!! Always loved the paint schemes on the Yamaha Street bikes of that era.
Here's Suzuki's version of that era and size. My '73 GT185 with Ram Air cooling. Just a fun bike to cruise around on.
