Honda Metro Maint.
Please, and question for the Scooteristas.. A friend of my SO asked me to do the 600 mile maint. on her Honda Metro I. I do all the maint on my 3 motorcycles, valves whathaveyou, so I am capable around the shop.
Can't seem to find any real info on maintainence, aside from changing the oil, and washing them. So what's up? Are the valves simple screw and nut tappets? Do they need to be checked? Does anyone know offhand the specs for the clearances? I realize this is some info that I'm asking about for free. And usually I just say to people asking the same questions, spend the dime and get the shop manual. But for me, this time, I don't think she wants to spend much money (hence coming to me in the first place) and I think I can get by without since I know the basics already.. Any help is appreciated.

TotalRuckus.com RuckusCentral Valve adjust via shims... probably the easiest to change shims on the planet. Only specialized tool needed is a pencil magnet to pick-up shim. |

If figure if it's the first 600 miles, all you really need to do is change the oil. There's a thread with a scan of the oil change directions from the owner's manual in the maintenence section of Ruckus Central.
I haven't been to it in a while, but www.urbanscootin.com used to be a mainly Metro forum... |
