We had our "restrictor" bushing removed by the dealer, and the rev limiter wire cut as well. The only caveat there is that it revs VERY willingly past redline--you have to keep an eye on it.

Not very well with the aftermarket pipe...it needs new rollers in the variator to fix that. The stock ones (de-restricted) pull a lot harder than mine does right now.

I've been wondering how long the engine on mine will last since it spends most of it's time redlined. If it dies it'll be a 70cc scooter after that.
