One item I forgot to list is the Bigfoot kickstand attachment. This thing is great when you're stopped in the woods and you don't want your stand to sink in the ground...

I'll back up everyone who said GPS. That thing as been a great help. I've find roads that I did't know existed. It as helped me save time. It allows me to focus on the road instead of trying to find myself on a map or looking of an address. Transfers for bike to car easily. Incredible.
The Micatech side cases would be the second best thing. Sorry Bob.

In order,
1 - Aeroflow transformed the GS into a useable sport tourer 2 - Gerbings jacket. It was 39 degrees F when I passed by the Milner Enterprises sign board this morning. My previous low temp ride was last Oct at 51 degrees. As the VStrommancer said "mmmmmmm toasty." MeanMoe screwed with this post 10-25-2006 at 05:08 PM Reason: fat fingers... doh! |

Ya'll are gonna laugh...
But my tired old 1981 GL1100 GOldwing.
I dropped a whopping $2k on it when I bought it seven years ago. I've put 120k miles on it since and the most serious mechanical issue I've ever had was a broken throttle cable. It may not be the best looking bike or the best handling bike, but that fucker is reliable as hell, has more torque than I'll ever need, will run 95mph ALL DAY and not wear me out, and it carries everything I need it to.

The item that gave me the most noticable improvement in my riding pleasure were Wilbers shocks for my GS.
The best safety item for my GS I think were Motolights, 2nd best safety item were my run-in-lights flashing LED brake lights. My GS is the over-all best piece of equipment I've ever purchased. |

A few stand out: GasGas trials bike, it's quiet enough that i can ride in my backyard. During the summer when it's light until 8:00pm I ride everyday when I get home from work. I can get in an hour or two of riding even on weekends when I can't "go riding".

What a great thread! I have to say my GIVI E460 top case is the most impressive piece of gear I own. The thing is eight years old and it is still airtight. If I close it at altitude and ride to sea level, I have to pry it open because the pressure differential creates a vacuum. Amazing.

Ipod and ER-6s.
Aerostich 2 piece Roadcrafter. SIDI/combat tour lights. I hated the boots for about a month and thought they would kill me breaking um in, but now you couldn't pry them away from me. Oh yeah and the aforementioned elkskin ropers, or summer vented hein gericke gloves. I hate little hand injuries or bug stings. |
