Free internet foreign language instruction?
Does anybody know of (free) resources on the net for getting a traveller's rudimentary grip on Spanish, French, German, Italian or other languages? I found the BBC website (http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/) which seems to be oriented toward getting travellers up to speed on a number of languages. Any other suggestions or URL's are appreciated. Thanks very much.

If you're clever and become proficient you can then hire yourself out as a cunning linguist.

You could just do a search on file-sharing software for the language you want and download it. Not to promote stealing or anything.

If you have an MP3 player of iPod, there are foreign language podcasts as well.

Your local library either has or has access to all the programs, and then you can "back them up."
I'm going through Pimsleurs Latin American spanish program now, after starting a similar thread here a while ago.
