garmin 2820 question...

i'm switching from a 276c to a 2820 and have a question. on my 276c, i can leave a track so that i can retrace in case i get lost. this helps especially when off road where there are no streets. will the 2820 leave tracks that can be traced?
thx jim

The Garmin 2820 certainly keeps tracks in memory. I've downloaded them onto the computer. I've never used the tracks in memory to retrace my route. However, when doubling back over a road, I've seen little dots on the route that look like the tracks look once they're downloaded onto the computer.

So, I can conclusively tell you that the Garmin 2820 DOES keep tracks in memory. However, I have no experience using those tracks on the GPS itself to retrace my steps.
