Since it was asked at the beginning of the thread, I just checked my ContiTrail Attacks which were OEM on my '08 GS. Just as with Chris's tires, my front was also from Korea, and the rear from Germany. Oh, and I love 'em! WA. |

ta's on a tiger
I peeled off the Tourances, which I had no complaints about..the Trail Attack's turn in way quicker, but don't cause oversteer to the point of freaking out or anything, more like a lot less input needed at the bars...very smooth and stable. A good road tire, haven't tried them in the gravel yet.

Pressure
So how much pressure are you finding that works well with the Conti T/A's and how is the bike set up?
I just mounted a set on my R12GS, I'm about 225 lbs in gear and normally ride with Michatec bags without much in them. I'm thinking about going 36psi front/rear 42psi |

Tyre pressure lore
Quote:
I run with bar- on the front I find that running at 2.2 (32psi) - 2.3 (33 psi) is good, but up to 2.5 (36psi) works better laden, and on long highway trips. Rear I run 2.5 (36) on the dirt, 2.7 (39) normal road and 2.9 (42) laden for a road trip. I run the same on TKC's and other tyres and am happy with that. if I'm going on a real dirt blast with TKC's I could drop them to 2.0 and 2.2, but I rarely bother. I'm not that fast!

Chris,
Thanks, I'm going to run the upper limits since most of my riding is flat and straight. I will keep an eye on the hot/cold pressures for a few rides to be sure I'm not getting too much fluctuation. Rodney |

Im really loving these tires. I feel quite confident on the street with them, and they lean quite well in the curves. Ive even gone a bit beyond the edges and head a little wear on the sidewall
and had no problems They do well enough in the dirt for general trail riding...![]() .....well...until you get stuck in semi-sand/loose shit.....then your fucked

Will be taking a set to the West Coast . Then 12 days of northern Cali touring ending at Laguna Seca for MOTOGP.
Solo to the West coast....2 up for the tour and 2 up for the return home... That should shag the tires pretty fast... will add a report Gonna be a busy month! |

I just completed a 100cc on these tires - 5,000 miles in under 5 days. I'd say the tires are maybe 50% used (but heavily flatspotted!
)

I guess I will be the bad apple
These tires scare me! They constantly feel like they are going to slip out from under me
. Confidence, not at all. In fact I have less than 500 miles on then and am taking them off as soon as I get my new Metzlers EXP. Any offers.
