Hey Joe, I just finished reading your touring trip to Italy post on the UKGSER website. Great post and picks. I did a 6K miles this summer taking about two and a half weeks starting in Orange county CA to Jasper Canada, zigzagging on the West side of N. America. What a great bike and wonderful roads. The bike performed flawlessly besides pulsating brakes, (warped rotors???) that I noticed at the end of the trip. The rotors were replaced under warranty and as per BMW service bulletin.

I like your Isotta and will probably get one as well.

New Megamoto

i got A megamoto a few weeks ago.What a bike it is, but the tank is WAY to small for me.I am really close to order the HPN tank from BMW Atlanta.
Did somebody see this tank for real,not on a pic on a mega.How does it look?

This underseat tank looks a lot neater solution than the HPN tank, and keeps the bike's look a lot cleaner and original, I think.

Holds about 7 litres, so should take the fuel range to around 200 miles I'd guess.

Here are a couple of links regarding this tank. I think you will see that it is a very high end piece. I'm sure markus is already working on a verision that will fit an hp2 with an Ohlins vs the original design which was make for the enduro with the conti air shock.

Whats the cause of the pulsations with the old rotors and how do the floating rotors cure the problem. I haven't experienced any problems yet.

The old rotors are also floating as per the tech who installed the new rotors.

I had a K1200S with 24K miles on it when I sold it and no pulsations or other brake issues. With the introduction of the non power assisted brakes new rotors with "softer" compound were put on the bikes in order to achieve higher friction and less effort on the lever. The new material however is more prone to warpage and many people on this forum complained about it and that was also my case, but again only after 15K miles on the bike I experienced the problem. The new design of the rotors allows for different "spring" washers and more floating that would compensate for the eventual warping that might develop one day.

I haven't and I personally like the idea of a conventional - HPN type of tank then the under seat solution developed for the HP2, but that's just a personal view.

Drilling the neck of the tank allowed me to get between 160-170 miles per tank on a long trip, a distance I could easily live with, in the city I get 140 miles per tank.

Gotta agree, there is no way I could own a bike with less than 5 gal. How much does the HPN tank hold?

But that MM is soooo sweet. Love the colors, too. Damn!
