If I remember right the VW leaves are just a little bit too wide but only a small amout of grinding will fix em up. They are still avaiable as far as I know...check with the VW restoration crowd or possibly the Dune Buggy sites on the net. We have converted quite a few of these sidecars to a fully adjustable cross torsion bar suspension with good results but that is another story. You will be fine with what you have if it is in good shape.

Slow to pick up on your post. Glad to see it togethor and it does look great. It will be the central topic at Hotchkiss
Won't see you there though, my plate is too full. Wow, not limited to Ural speeds but how does it stop? |

I was just talking to Lisa and she was looking forward to seeing you. Oh well dissapointing the ladies.
As far as the rig goes I am surprised at how well it handles. I did a little adjust on the lean out last night and it holds the road a whole lot nicer now too. It will take a little tweaking but so far I am really surprised and satisfied with it. I guess I'll see for sure after the road trip this weekend.

That thar's funny too Dana it's looking good can't wait to see it in person. Need a test pilot? guinea pig or guinea monkey? I'll volunteer Cookiebox, she will be entertained with the mirror.

Isn't it a great feeling when you do your first test drive on a newly built hack? You feel like a Wright brother or something.
I too was amazed at how easy it was to ride my outfit. I had expected the lack of almost any sort of calculated adjustment to make it a death trap. It's been six months of refinements since and I expect it to continue for the foreseeable future. You will pry this rig from my cold, dead hands

Karitoki,
I have seen a couple of KZ1000Ps with a hack on them but for some reason they just don't look right to me. It made it to it's first rally this weekend and the rig and I both survived so I guess it's going to work.
