Little help Please, Gearbox needed
Hi guys, the gearbox on my GL1100 Wing gave up the ghost last night (stuck in 3rd gear) and I have learnt that the previous owner just tried to repair the problem a couple of times instead if replacing the worn selector shaft.
So, my request is: I'm thinking of getting another box for it and can anyone in the States help out. As in know of any Wing wreckers in their area. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks guys and gals. TDave.

Hi TD..
Isn`t there a Honda Goldwing Club here in Australia?? I`m sure there would be someone local that may be able to help before you try bringing in one from the States.. Worth a look anyway.. Good luck.. |

A little footnote to this unhappy saga.
After advice from the old owner, I proceeded to remove the lower front engine cover (oil pump housing) which took about 2 & 1/2 hours. Radiator out, oil cooler out etc etc. Once that was all done, as I said 2 & 1/2 hours, it literally took 3 seconds to click the selector fork back into position. Now it all works as it should. Sheesh! Ahhhhhh, worn selector fork, wonder how much that's going to cost to replace?

This is why I never got it off with that water-cooled stuff
Glad you got it fixed though
