Does anybody in western MA have Jesse cases on a 800GS I could see in person. I just put my Trax cases on it it seems very wide.

When I first saw the Trax my first impression was they looked as wide as a Tracter Trailer. With not wrapping around the muffler or indentions for the muffler they are going to be wide. Also the racks are way out from the bike which makes them really wide. I have the black Odysey II Jesses (3rd set) and could not be happier with the tight/narrow fit. Don't know the dimensions but I'd bet they are at least 4 inches narrower, and would hold about the same amount of cargo.

That looks good. Which cases are those 8" or 10"

I'll post a pic of my 800 later. No camera right now.

Would like to see your pic's. Odessy II's are 10 inch.
You can slide them backwards and forwards about 4 inches when you have a passenger...nice feature. So yuou know, the Jesse Odesey cases hold 22 liters more than the Jesse Safari cases. Pretty signifiacnt advantage on a long trip. Removing them takes about
30 seconds. The latest version has MAJOR improvements in how the bags are mounted to the racks.

Check Jesse's website out here for more info.

I have Pelicans on my KLR-650 and they do look like you"re following a Tractor Trailer down the road. :lol3 Both bags are the same size and the racks stick out about 4 inches on both sides. The side loaders only hold about half what the top loading Jesse's hold.

Is that because you can ram stuff in there more tighly with the top-loader?

I was thinking that if I got side-loaders I'd pack them off the bike in the horizontal ... creating the opportunity for an explosion of stuff if I had to open them while still attached to the bike... :lol3

The Trax are very wide, 4" wider than Jesse's is about right. And the latches are a pain. You have to have the key in them just to latch them up. Lame :eek1

I have had the Jesse Safari cases on my '09 F650GS for about a year. They are beautiful and it seems like I can just keep pushing more "stuff" in them :clap

That would be great if I could see them in person. I'm around all weekend if we can get together.

How about putting the 800 up on the center stand with the cases on.

I'm having a hard time with the trax cases on. I need to remove the left one to get close enough to get it up.
