FYI - I have a new Puig tinted in the Flea Market for sale @ $ 99. Too large for me, on the bike for 20 miles.

    Hi BMWRICH

Your BMW looks like really nice with the GSA tinted windscreen.
I am thinking of ordering the same but i am confused on installing this to my LC GS. Could you please tell me how exactly you procced with the instalation of it to your LC? Did you replace the whole kit (as BMW told me) or you did it with another simpliest or cheapest way?

    Thanks in advance!

the new style screen comes with rubber grommets , new arms , etc.

ie , they don't crack around the mounting holes anymore.

What do you mean new style? You are referring to the GSA tinted windscreen?

BMW updated the screen setup for the GS (the GSA came later and didn't need updating).

before , the screen was held onto the arms directly. This and the vibs , cause screens to crack (with cracks emanating from the mounting holes).

BMW then updated the screens by using rubber grommets to isolate the screen. This updating required a new screen AND new arms , etc.

    hope this help

I ordered a Puig based on info in this thread. Just put it on this afternoon, and got a short ride in. Very pleased. I can ride with my faceshield up at 80mph quite comfortably. One thing I noticed however, at freeway speeds I couldn't adjust the windshield hight. Too much air pressure on the windshield I guess.

The adjuster mechanisms are wimpy. Not meant to adjust at highway speeds.

They work fine on a stock screen, but when you add a much bigger screen you are pushing the limits of the adjuster mechanism. They were not designed for it.:deal

quick question, I purchased the same windshield but i notice that on the highway the wind pushes back the windshield and it rubs against the wind deflectors on the side. Are you having the same problem? if so how did you solve it?, This goes to anyone that has the puig windshield.? i would appreciate the help

Quick question for those using the Puig shield: are you using it with or without extra support? Which one?

I just mounted a new Puig on my 2015 R12GSAW.

Very tight fit in the mounting bracket like the holes in the screen were drilled too far apart slightly. I applied slight pressure and it fit in.

But after it was mounted I noticed the screen is cocked to the left slightly. Then I started looking at the screen closely and the 'V' cut in the top of the screen is off center also. The too legs of the 'V' are not the same length, about 1/4 inch difference.

I'm just wondering if this is typical for the Puig screen or if the quality control has dropped since they are selling so many of them and trying to deal with the back log.

Yeah, the seller will take it back and/or exchange for a different one but I'm unsure if what I will get will be even worse. If some of you FF's could measure your 'V' legs and let us know what you see it would help me decide to live with it or send it back.

To be honest I'm not sure what level of quality we should expect for $135 but hell it's going on a $25K+ motorbike and it looks a little goofy.

    Thanks,

    Jim

Have the same setup. Very pleased with it, although i still used touratech's extension to completely eliminate helmet buffeting.

Looking at their website an Aeroflow windshield looks like only $200 to me, but up to $600 if you build the full Monty with leg guards, etc. that probably offer RT-like protection.
