So I have about 1400 miles on my bike that I bought in Sept. Taken it on some fire trails twice. Very short distances. Since I have gotten it I did noticed I had to fill the front tire up twice because it seemed to have lost air pressure and the warning light came on but this happened over a couple weeks each time. The third time it was lower than the other two times so much so I decided to stop and add air but I thought it was due to the cold weather. Yesterday after letting the bike sit for a day I get one to ride to a friends house and the air pressure is at 10lbs... Turned around and filled the tire up to 35lbs, pressure was low for sure could feel it turning, and let it sit overnight. This morning I woke up and bam...... 15lbs lower.... I looked over the tire with a fine tooth comb.. No nail. Not leaking from valve stem either. So I figured it out. I had taken soapy water and tried it yesterday but to no avail. Well I did it again and really took my time and BAM... Little hole there. So I put a plug in it. Should I get it repaired or get a new tire.... I have never had to plug a motorcycle tire and would hate to have to get a new one but I want it to be safe.
Could be a bad wheel, crack, or what ever. But most likely the bead is not right. Spray with soapy water.
As you can see, Jim uses some of his bodily fluids to seal the plug as well. I have also seen him do things with plugs that....will go unspoken except for monetary temptation. -jeff
Have the video for the 2014... Didn't think to check to see if it has plugging.... Thanks Might be a bit late but I have the twine plug (at least I think it is) and its brown... I really want to keep the tire since it has 1400 miles on it and I am not quiet ready for the TKC70s and I am fighting... I also don't want to throw a plug.
I bought a Nealy tire repair kit at the recommendation of one of my riding buddies. While changing a rear tire he drilled a hold in the worn tire and tested the plug. He said it worked as advertised and plugged and patched the hole. http://www.tirerepairkit.com/ http://www.tirerepairkit.com/easyuse.htm
