Ok crazy builder dude, i'm a little late to the party and will admit I have not read it all (YET) but if you haven't finalized your steering head, what about one of the fairly inexpensive steering head tapered bearing kits from "All Balls"? IIRC you can pick your inner and outer diameters from a chart and theoretically with small bit of work get the races to slip into the head (maybe some epoxy or even brazing if you feel like gettin' fancy) and then re-assemble with tapered bearing on the stem?

It is likely that this is the first thread where someone suggested epoxy as the "fancy" alternative to anything. Love it.

Damn it. Derek did have time, but I decided to "quickly" move my new 2,000 pound lathe into position in my garage. Which required moving about 500 pounds of miscellaneous tools, metal, the drill press, and general garage filler. Somehow, it ended up taking a little longer than I had anticipated. So... Tonight! Hopefully.

"General Garage Filler" is the name of my "Garbage" tribute band. We're still looking for a front-woman.

Now you most post every day lest we think you've been impaled, (Dress like a Kanigit to prevent impalement) Oh, and don't wear a tie while lathing. Only thing I remember from Jr. High shop class.

I have met Mullet once or twice and I can report you don't have to worry about him wearing a tie while working. Or even clothes.
