I am currently using a 76cs, and really like it. I was thinking of getting the ZUMo for being able to use it with gloves and the MP3 capability. But cant justify the cost since it does not have the features of the 76CS. The best part of the 76 CS is it will run 30 hours on 2 Ultra Duracell AA batteries. I tested this feature a few weeks ago on a Sportbike ride in the Ozarks. Thur through Sunday. And still had battery left. I was not at anytime using the back light, but did not need it. The downside of the 76CS is that it does not come with mapping software, and is like $400, but it is waterproof, and very much vibration proof, dont ask me how I know. :) One of the neat feature of the 76cs is you can just about put any info you want on any screen. Nice to be able to tailor screens to the data you want. Take a look at the manual for that and you will see why everyone is complaining about the ZUMO lack of functionality. The 76cs is just a small version of the 276c with out the memory upgradibility. And the lack of Voice Prompts.

Just get a 276c, these are a good unit and if you are prepared to spend like $1500 the 276 is better featured until they sort the bugs out of the Zumo.
Garmin may never make the Zumo do what everyone wants if they rely on costomer feedback.
Seems to me they have priced it high to suit a specific target group and left features simple for what they think most people want (as opposed to selling a full featured GPS). Eg: do you really need to use the phone by touching the screen on your GPS?

For my money the Quest will do me but a friend has a 276 because it runs both marine charts and land maps at the same time (he uses it for yacht deliveries as well as land lubber stuff and he is very happy with it)

I have a 76cs, and really like the features of it. I still cant justify the extra money for the Zumo yet with its limited features. I do like the Bluetooth, and the ability to play MP3's on one unit. But not sure I like it $750 worth. And after reading on some other forums about some of the problem they are having, I think I will wait for Garmin to perfect it a little more. And you are right the 276c has basically the same firmware as my 76cs that it lets you practically tailor every screen. And can turn off screens you do not wish to use. And I recently used it on an AR trip sportbiking in the Ozarks for 3 days on one set of AA batteries.
    Merry Christmas To All :)
