You can mount them much less conspicuous than that!

I collected my 1200 from a very nice guy not too far away from where I live, it's my 3rd GS in 5 yrs, previous models I've had were the 1100 & 1150. The 1200 beats the shit out of the other two by a country mile!!!!!

I was in Northern Ireland last week, some fantastic roads and amazing people, I can't wait to return there :beer

Some pics from Thursday afternoon on the Antrim Coast road.......

Tax Disc on the beak is not a problem for me, but seems to upset others - soooooooo I have moved it to the frame just above the exhaust heat guard - I now have an excuse to post another pic of my bike in a day or two. :rayof

:freaky Cheers mate,, didn't mean to apply so much Peer pressure.
I am South African born and raised, and we had the same system there which I hated all my life. I now live in Germany where all of that stuff goes on your licence plate. Much nicer !! (Added bonus.. the Autobahn,, no speed limits)

I have an 04 & 07 Adventure as well. I loved my 1150 so much I thought I would own it forever & ever. Now I am having a hard time even riding it a little. The 1200 is so much better in every respect. OK, well the 1150 is better looking, but that is it. EVERYTHING works better on the 1200.

Hey There, new to the forum and thought I'd share a pic or two of my own. I took a trip down around the South of Ireland (Kerry) recently. Hint: if your ever in Ireland take spin around the 'Gap of Dunloe', some of the nicest biking I've done in a long time!:evil

1150GSA : +Better build, engine smoother even at high rpm, stock seat more comfy, better stability when running, shorter first gear, looks slightly better than the 12 IMHO.

-heavy, accelerates sluggishly compared to the 12, noise observed from windscreen and instrument area when in gravel, pillion comfort is terrible.

1200GSA : +Powerful engine, excellent acceleration and trottle response, feels 100kg lighter than the 1150, good wind protection, very nimble, very good lighting power, comfy pillion seat.

-engine vibey at high rpm, build not as good as the 1150, CANBUS limits your options on what electrical accesories to attach, tall first gear, stability lacking if compared to the 1150, rider seat is terrible.

Overall: [IMG] but I love them both.<!-- / message -->

    Hi Questor,

Very nice looking bags in a very nice looking bike. What seat is that? I'm on hunt for a replacement of my OEM seat that I find uncomfy? How do you find yours? Thanks

    Ricochet

    Hi Ricochet.
That's actually the stock 'Low' seat after 25K miles.
I find it's quite comfortable for about 250 miles then I usually need to take a break, get gas, and stretch anyway.

My GS has limited mods, and still needs a better seat, more lighting, engine guards for my trip to Mexico later this year. :D

    What?!
And put a non-OEM BMW part on my best friend? Never!
Come to think of it, I have to go out to the garage and read the GS a bedtime story.
It likes it when I read selected Ride Reports from ADVrider to it.
"Once upon a time there was a GS who wanted to goto Alaska, via Newfoundland and Goose Bay!"
We are just two homeless vagabonds waiting for a chance to roam the world! :thumb

    Have GS, will travel.
