Fire away!
when it says multi-pair bluetooth for the smh5, does that mean it can pair up to 4 units (smh5's) for intercom like the smh10?
Sort of. The SMH5 can pair with up to three other headsets, but communication is only 1-to-1, whereas the SMH10 can do a 4-way 'conference call'. The SMH5 work the way the original SMH10 did, with regards to intercom between headsets. Multi-pairing with regards to mobile phones, lets you connect your headset to two mobile phones at once.
Thanks for the order! One more small step towards my retirement - in about another hundred years, I guess .
Amazing - the SMH5's are sellin' like crazy. We ran out of dual kits in just a few days. More dual's here at the beginning of the week, along with accessory clamp kits.
What about streaming music from my iPhone 4? Can I have my iPhone paired and still use between helmet communication?
Yowza, no problem. Helmet-to-helmet uses a proprietary Sena Bluetooth profile, so you can pair to your phone and have intercom to another rider with a Sena SMH5 or SMH10, or to a passenger.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note. Will it pair with Android? I am really only interested in music from my phone. Can it control and select music from phone? Can it be used without the speaker boom? I wear ear plugs...will I be able to hear music thru ear plugs? I wear a Shoei Quest. Thanx in advance....sounds like it may be just the ticket.....
ordered a SMH5 earlier and just installed it. Paired with my SMH10 no problem, intercoms with the SMH10 no problem, plays music from the iphone via bluetooth. I like how it doesn't have pins, it also noticeably smaller than the SMH10 too...and the price was right.
Will it pair with Android? - Android phone - I presume? Yes. Can it control and select music from phone? Yes. Can it be used without the speaker boom? Yes. I wear ear plugs...will I be able to hear music thru ear plugs? Yes, presuming you have 'normal' hearing - so long as you position the speakers properly, you should be OK. This is especially important with molded earplugs. I wear a Shoei Quest. Should be no problem.
COOL! I like the new design, as well. We'd appreciate if you'd rate your purchase experience at http://rocketmoto.com/review. Thanks for the business - truly appreciated!
Ordered it from Adam and it was a perfect transaction. Very well packed and on time. Set up in seconds with my iphone4 and I was using it right away. Did a couple of hundred Colorado miles and it worked well. I'll report back on the pros and cons after I get some ore miles. Here are a couple things I noticed right off the bat. - good mounting to the helmet - On the Shoei Hornet you have to situate the ear pieces very carefully if you don't want them to rub on your ears. Arai should have no issues. - sometimes when I turned my head far to the right, the volume went up. Wind? It was usually at 60mph+ - You don't even notice it on your helmet when riding. Very small. - buttons/dial are easy to access - I put my iphone in the map compartment on my tank bag and it shut down due to over heating. So then I put my phone in my right leg pocket. On occasion, I felt like the Bluetooth would cut out a little. I switched the phone to my left leg pocket and did not have the same issue. - It's great for turning the volume down at stoplights to talk with other riders. All and all, very happy. thanks RocketMoto!
Does anyone know if a bluetooth adapter exists that allows you to hook up a traditional radio (like FRS/GMRS) w/ a headset/mic jack to pair w/ a SENA? I noticed the SMH5 doesn't have an aux jack, it's just straight BT. EDIT: Nevermind... Sena has a product for that already! Sena BT Radio Hub. :rollseyes
You can do this two ways - first is to use the SR10 Bluetooth hub. A second option is using a 2-way Bluetooth adapter like the Camos BTA-R. Questions? Give us a call on 877.533.4245.
