Wow, seeing that wheat field makes me homesick. I'd much rather be living in North Central Kansas than Hawaii! Thanks for the awesome pictures everyone, they're good for the soul.

It was around 6pm, facing to the southeast, with a small thunderstorm approaching.

    Hi Don,

Ever since I began riding going fast on racey bikes has been one thing I love to do. Often I ride with others who share this passion and we haul ass dogging each other tooth to heal.

However, I also find that there is no finer riding than the type which you and I shared on that trip. Retracing the steps of famous personages through history into remote places.

Yeah I love my new 525 EXC and dancing the single track through the trees but that ride we did was wonderful on another grander and deeper level. When are we going to do another ? We need to pick a date of some historic event and meet on the site it occurred.

What's this I see about you being in WA ?

    All the best,

    Esteban

I am amazed at the way the telling of History has changed between the early 1900s and today.

How a place so generally featureless can be so strikingly beautiful I do not fully understand.

Casey -- I stared at this pic of the water towers for a long time. When I was a kid, my family would either vacation at The Fort, pass through on the way somewhere else, spring turkey hunt or deer hunt every year. When I was little, my folks always told me I would never get lost by just keeping track of where the water towers were.

Fort Rob and the surrounding area is one of my favorite places.
