Seen this at the NEC show, Birmingham, today and wondered if any one has got one. They are not cheap!
It really is a perfect match for a serious 12GS. I would hope that it does not end up in the hands of some poseur.
Thanks for sharing. Enfield ( ? ) in the back ground with the chair looks interesting. 50+ inches of track , hardly any lead , massive front overhang ... it already screams poseur. A well fabricated one but not what I'd want off the beaten track. .
With that full width swinging axle, the seat would need to be raised six to eight inches to have had it over axle for more lead.
The suspension design adds nothing , like you said , a swing arm anchored inboard running transverse and controlled via adjustable radius arms. Whoop-dee-do , the thing goes up and down. Claude's efforts would wipe it off the map in comparison for a fraction of the cost. .
With Harris Engineering, Watsonian-Squire and Mobec all involved in the project, it might pay to wait a bit before knocking the design. http://www.sidecar-news.de/newscombinations/sbw-motorrad--new-kid-on-the-block/index.html http://www.sbwmotorrad-bmw.co.uk/Sidecar.html
Pops design I was impressed with. Norton's Big 4 , clean, simple , elegant. The so called big names you mention ... not so much. Another you-an my-grammar , charlie booringman wank in the making. The tech , for those that like that kind of thing , yeah , OK , but I'd think in the technical off road stuff a stock 2WD ural would embarrass it. .
That car was posted here in a thread with a link to YouTube videos of the prototype being fabricated, a year or so ago. Don't know how to search for it. The fabbers were getting hammered pretty good by some inmates, IIRC.

I like it. Looks great. The integrated headlights are kind of cool. The frame looks pretty lightweight. 4130 maybe. Oh well...doesn't hurt to ask? BRB. . . "Oh Honey!!" . . Well, it ain't gonna happen at Casa Ace.
I'd love to be a poseur and have this kind of money available... Listening to envious knee jerks reactions would be the proverbial cherry on the cake!
Yeah really! I think it is a cool bit of kit, and find it surprising that a new adv style sidecar attracts so much negativity. Nice to see something that is so thoroughly un-ural-esque!
Negativity? On AdvRider? First time I've ever seen that? But, yeah, I think it's bad ass! Not only "un-ural-esque" but "un-American-esque" when you think about it. It's not like anything you can get in the lower 48. Brock Smith has done some pretty wild stuff, and at least one sidecar that reminds me of the SBW car (can you say Triumph Tiger?), but he's in Canada, so "un-American-sque" I think is accurate. Would love to see some video of that outfit tearing up rugged terrain somewhere.
Wow. That looks really great. I would love to see how it would hold up in real world conditions. Some very nice features going on - I wonder what the body is made of? I gotta say though, my vote still goes to a CSM...
I suppose you could turn over the bucket that was holding ALL THAT CASH before you gave it to the dealer! It does LOOK nice, how's it go? Need some footage. Why don't one of the richer guys buy one, film and post the beating and let us know? We'd be appreciative, probably not much, but appreciative nonetheless.
