Aww, man.
We beat the dust cloud guy, but his 2 friends were already at the cabin!





Oh well.
It was a fun ride anyway. Plus, there’'s plenty of room for everyone.












I took most of the cabin pantry photos for larryboy, so he can check inventory.

Good Night!

We must have missed the Little Wan Cone at Teakettle by minutes/hours. We spent about 15 minutes checking, pissing off the tourists waiting for us to get out of their picture.

Ran into a couple in a Volvo Wagon between the Racetrack and the top of Lippencott with a flat tire, he had just finished bolting on the Mini Spare as we stopped. We considered plugging up his original tire but the side wall gash and missing chunk of aluminum were more than plugs could fix. Halfway to the Crater the Mini Spare came off the wheel and he took out his oil pan. His tow bill will be nothing compared to the pain he'll endure after seeing the fury in his wife/girlfriend

Awww...it must have been sad to find the "you're too late" tag that Aimee left...
But what about the one on Lippincott?? Did you have the lat/lon coordinates?

I haven't had time to read the whole thing, but have enjoyed what I have seen so far. I sure appreciate the sense of humor and nice photos! I have visited a friend in Pahrump several times and spent time visiting and hiking in Death Valley and am looking forward riding that area on my bike. I rode through Titus Canyon in a cage and think it would be a HOOT on a bike.

PSR - Goler - Barker Ranch - Mengel - Geologist Cabin - Mengel - Goler - Ballarat - Charcoal Kilns - Goldfish Pond - PSR




Instead of doing the usual loop, which would have taken us on Warm Springs Rd to West Side Rd to Furnace Creek (and pavement back to PSR),
We decided to go back the way we came and do Mengel and Goler from the other direction.




The other guys left while we were taking photos inside the cabin.
I was hoping that enough time had passed so they wouldn't be wabbits for BigWan




















Now, this video was supposed to go up and over Mengel and down the other side.
Unfortunately, I must have accidentally hit the button just before we got to the top.


Motherbrother!

So, you can just see the guys from the cabin at the top and then the video ends.
Oh well.
Sorry. It still would have been boring, if that's any consolation.

Hello, Ballarat!





We stopped to enjoy some of Ballarat's finest ice cold $2 beer...Mmmm...beer.

Hung out and BS'd with Rocky for a bit.
We learned a lot about the largest underground lake in the world.
Rocky showed us the ginormous salt crystal he found...
We didn't lick it, but we'll take his word that it was salt!


Speaking of lick, gave some love to Potlicker...





After our break, BigWan was fiddling with the helmets, so I ran to use the ladies room...


matt: where were you?
me: bathroom.
matt: you went pee here? how was it?
me: Eh. there wasn't a door...
matt: oh, right. I heard that the door was getting in the way of the cameras...

Man, I really did clear out the rocks didn't I? Sorry about that, 1200 pounds of bike and riders is really fun to take places like that. I like the low first gear on your KTM, Little Wan. The BMW can't do that on it's best day!!:eek1

Missed that one....but we're off to Cerro Gordo this am, another ride up Lippencott on the way out wouldn't bother me

No Picture, No Cone!

know, damn late start. In our defense it was cold this morning and we were out late last night. They said it was 12 degrees up at Cerro Gordo overnight when we got up there, the ride out to Swansea was certainly brisk :eek1

Due to the late start and time chatting and sight seeing at Cerro Gordo we couldn't make an attempt on the cone. We ran into HanksMyBuddy halfway between CG and Swansea and spent more time chatting. Great Ride, some incredible views from up top, Thanks for sharing this one, I don't think we would have even considered it without the RR!

You guys need to ride more so we don't have to wait so long your next ride report. Thanks for the most genuinely honest and fun ride reports on the board. And your photos aren't 'mediocre' either. This one is full of good stuff. One of my favorite observations in this one-

It's easter weekend!
Went for a ride today (250 miles) and tomorrow is an all day family fest.
Back to Death Valley on monday...

We tried it 2up, but couldn't. Not enough Mo'menum
Went down, but no biggie (Tn Walrus - I didn't hurt my foot!! woo!)

Did some more exploring...(with Bartek990)



It was a good time!


We have about 2000 miles on these Scorpion Rallys now - the back was pretty whupped already, but it got bad by the end of the day...




Front's still looking good, though...





I know I made everyone cry last time (summer of stupid) when I told them that there's no easter bunny, so I won't do it this time.
