He bailed. I tried to talk him into it but I think he's getting grief for a trip we just did to the Hill Country. We left the day his wife went in for foot surgery.

I'm ready. I may re-schedule the dogs to go to the kennel Thursday and get an extra day up there. I'm tenting, so I'll be good. Just as long as I can get a lattè in the morning.

You do have lattè in Arkansas, right?

Yeah, Doc is bringing his expresso machine and a barrista with him to the mountain. Single or double shot? Whole or skim?

That will be 2 nights lodging if 'ya look at it kinda skewed like... :D

That way I can get 2 full days of riding and ONE night of drinking :ricky:freaky:ricky

    Good one.

Now I'm tempted to bring my stovetop espresso pot and a Coleman two-burner. Bring some civilization to the frontier. But Nestle's Classico instant provides a pretty good jolt. I'll survive. What good's espresso without Wi-Fi, anyway?

I'll be there Thursday. See you then.

    I'll have my espresso pot. It's what I drink daily. 4 servings-One cup.:*sip*
Medium roast drip just doesn't do it for me any more. :nah

Co Rd 75 is closed just south of White Rock Mountain so you might not be able to take that route to Shores Lake. There is a back way though :D

I just rode it today and it is closed and it looks to have several weeks worth of work to do on the road.

Unfortunately no. I am taking the DRZ over to a friends to get a lot of stuff (forks, clutch, kick starter) that weekend. I did get to ride around 150 miles, about half dirt, around there on my Versys today.

I want to take a little bit here and make some points and suggestions for you guys who are going to be at SLAP this year.

There is a real good chance that you will have a good time. SLAP is always fun.

I would HIGHLY suggest that for those of you who have GPS, once you get to White Rock or your camp, WAYPOINT it! If you get lost, or break away from a group, you can always get back using your waypoint. Make a note, send yourself a text, a piece of tape on your GPS, anything to help remind your self to WAYPOINT your base of OPs

Bring your camelbacks! Filled of course

Tubes! if you run tubes! Someone will get a flat!

If you are going to ride to a restaurant, carry a snack at least.

There are a few of these Road Closed signs in the area..

DO NOT breach them! The roads are patrolled and if you get caught, you could suffer a hefty fine and confiscation of your bike! Law enforcement on this matter is S E R I O U S! There is a reason for the signs and closures! really there is!

Please do not join a group that is already into the ride and not let the leader know. This year I hope to use colored tape on helmets to help everyone know what group they are in. It has happened in the past when two different groups meet at an intersection and the easy ride group take off and a member of the easy ride group is now stuck in the knarly single track group on their way to climb Widow Maker! Color tape will help prevent this.

Ride meetings should take place abt 30 min before the ride, please attend these. All it takes is one to mess up a group ride because he missed the important tips and tricks and it makes for a very long and frustrating day.

Let have a fun safe SLAP ride..
