Sorry to say Mini-SKERT and I will be missing this most favorite rally for the first time. I feel the need to stay home and work, sucky I know, but a job is a wonderful thing when I want to buy a new bike. We will miss selling you those 50/50 tickets and riding around in Tommy's mule. Dance a Mamou for me. SKERT
Pics from 2004 https://chuckklr04.smugmug.com/gallery/334468_9Lpb6#13295976_RA9xA Don't know yet if I'm going. Will be a sat- sun ride if done. Look for a redhead on a klr with a black eye. Will tell what happed at rally.
It's a don't miss event! The people make it, everything else is just gravy, Cajun style. :dg BUT... I ain't gonna make it for the first time since 04. Wife's goin' to FL and I have to stay with the girls. Raise a glass for me! I'll be there in spirit. Kevin
If all goes according to plan, I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Maybe try to get a few together and do a beach run from Lafayette down to the coast and run thru Forked Island to Creole. Still lots of hurricane scars and damage even from Rita 3 years ago. Don't know if we'd have time to run all the way to Holly Beach and up but that would include a buck a bike ferry ride if did so. Funny, It's free from West to East but a buck from East to West. Oh well.
The long route over the Cameron ferry and through Holly Beach and back Via I-10 would be about 305 miles.
I hope to ride over for Saturday but can't make the Friday or Saturday overnights. On the way back south yesterday afternoon, I did manage to find the place and give the organizers a whole bag of Loctite freebies to put in the registration bags. Come say hello if you see a grey 640A on Saturday- I'll make sure to have bags packed with handouts. Dirty
