You can have it. The only northern state south of the Mason-Dixon.

With more data in, I think its clear that Georgia is the best team in the SEC East this year....as I thought at the beginning of the season, but not after the two USCe games. The three best teams in the SEC are once again in the West though. Florida was lucky to get aTm early.

Florida is fortunate to be 8-1 and to have clinched at least a tie for first place in the division. As weak as the offence is, it's astonsing how close they are to being undefeated and ranked #2...The Georgia game really could have gone either way with all of the turn-overs. It would be undeserved though.

I'll take it, they won a few this year that they probably should have lost (aTm, Missouri) and lost a few last year that they should have won (Auburn , UGA & FSU) so I guess it balances out.

They're still not playing Florida Football, so let's see how they come out next year.

I've always heard of northern Florida referred to as southern Georgia.

And you know, even with all of the bit chin and such among us, the SEC is still the best conference in the nation.
Love us or hate us, you still have to respect us:deal

Have you forgot 2006? No one gave UGA a chance in that one either when you were the 5th ranked team in the nation and UGA lost to Kentucky and Vandy that year.

    We won 37-15

You just never know, is my point. :deal

GD I'm tired of hearing this crap. In reality the SEC is a fairly decent conference that has been dominated by 1 team for what, the last 5 years? 'Bama has lost 5 conference games in the last 5 years? Lots of balance there.

But, I guess if you're a fan of Tenn, Auburn, Ol Miss, Kentucky and Missouri, it makes it a little less painful to know that your teams are sucking big time, if you keep telling yourself about how much respect the SEC has. :strum

2009 was the transition year. Florida dominated for a while, then in 2009 Florida and Bama were both undefeated in the SECCG....the first time that ever happened. Alabama won and has generally been the dominant power since.....but there have been a few other solid teams mixed in. When Alabama takes that inevitable step down, another will take its place.

When the SEC is described as a dominant conference, it isn't to say that all the teams are great...far from it....It's just that the competitive nature of the conference consistently produces one or two national contenders. Remember that the 6 year MNC streak has 4 different teams as winners....that's not bad.

I'd say having seven of the top 20 teams in the BCS is pretty dominant...:deal My guess is that if you look back over the past 10 years, that number is pretty steady...at least five...
    Maybe you should define dominant...:ear

I'd say there's not much difference in Georgia, Florida & S. Carolina this year. Honestly they are all decent teams. I think LSU and A&M are in the same boat. I don't think they are any better or worse than the 3 from the East. 'Bama is good! I'll take the Tide over the field. They should be favored by 2 touchdowns or so in the SEC championship.

I think that all six are top 20 teams. My ranking ....for now.... is:

    Gumps
    Corndogs
    Aggies
    Dwags
    Gators
    Cocks

These 6 teams have 0-2 losses because they play each other....
