What did you do IN your Garage today?

Spent a couple hours polishing faded frame and motor paint, and refreshing the black plastics on my new to me GS.

I have my laptop out there, so that's what I did.

Putting correct shims in my DL's cams is tomorrow's project.

Put a set of lower control arms on an S430 Mercedes. Four O2 sensors on an ML420 Mercedes. A 64k mile service on an E90 BMW. So far today. Waiting on a windshield washer pump for the E90.

That is some amount of side jobs for a home garage!

Maybe I should have been more specific, HOME garage!

I put the final coat of paint on a new ramp for my trailer. Used a 2X12 doug fir, mixed up a small batch of paint, dumped a couple handfuls of sand in it, and painted the top of the ramp. It is rough as heck just what I wanted for loading a bike.

I shivered, then went inside to write Christmas cards.

I have lots of cleanup (similar to what Jim ACCOMPLISHED) on the Softail project. Hopefully soon I can get the heater started so touch-up painting will be possible.

Dumped some Marvel mystery oil in my truck.

I got the swing arm bearings out of my V1100 Sport. They are double row ball bearings so they are long. Had to drill a hole through both sides of the universal shroud. Then custom bent a long rod to knock em out. These bearings just laughed at my slide hammer.

Blew the dust out of the heater, lit the pilot, and dropped the visqueen wall to get ready for Jan & Feb.

Engine comes out of the Airhead this weekend for a rebuild.

Installed Lansdowne dampers in my Norton's forks, made a BIG improvement in handling and are adjustable for compression and rebound damping. They are beautifully made in a home shop in the UK and I'm sorry I won't be able to look at them anymore....(or no more than the caps anyway ;-)

Finished replacing the electrical connector on my Hannigan fairing with a mil-spec version: McMaster-Carr #'s 8903T46 and 8903T16. The female (8903T46) was installed inside yesterday after carrying the fairing inside and the male on the wiring from the headlamp today. All connections were soldered and covered with PVC heat shrink tubing.

Adjusted the valves on my XR650L, Washed and waxed the KTM 990A and put it on a tender, Pulled the post hole digger off the tractor and cleaned it up for winter storage, greased the backhoe, topped off the fluids and put it on a battery tender.

Had a couple oc cups of coffee, a tin of sardines and some crackers. It was a good day.
