I love the looks of the GS its timeless… The S10 has a good look too, and its not tring to be a GS … I need some seat time on a S10 before I can go any further

Having a DR650 as my bike of choice for the last 2 years (primer grey no less), I don't think anyone would disagree I have an eye for beautiful bikes.

Yes but seriously, the nicest looking bike I ever owned, to me, was my brand new 2004 Aprilia RSV.
But my true love in riding is big adventure trips.
And for that , not unlike the Super Ten, 950 Adv or DR650 with bold new graphics …

The greatest generation ever and saviors of the free world.

On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline, to fight Nazi Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which, “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end, the Allies gained a foot-hold in Continental Europe. The cost in lives on D-Day was high. More than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded, but their sacrifice allowed more than 100,000 Soldiers to begin the slow, hard slog across Europe, to defeat Adolf Hitler’s crack troops.

No we didn't ride through this time. Definitely more collapsing then the last time we rode through. The self preservation meter was pegged. Lol

Here, but this time we came in from the other end. You cannot see daylight through the tunnels. Curved and too long.

Well its funny, I have a gsa but tried this

Brief Impressions after a 30 minute ride at my "leisure"

This one had a redone seat that didnt work for me at all however riding position seem good, the engine was surprising, I havent been a fan of inline twins however the 270 degree firing order really changes the overall feel, sound and balance, this one was sporting a rather nice sounding akra pipe and I suspect this bikes previous owner had done the infamous reflash mod witch might have or not make it feel more pepy...regardless the engine was quite stellar, as a side note the tranny feelt clunky more so on the lower 3 gears and downshifts witch I didnt expect, clunkier than MY gs witch is the bar as far as tractors go lol....not sure bout others.

Suspension was ok but certainly would need a tweak or two for me, my gs is way more planted even when it had the stock suspension but could very well been a set up issue since after the ride I noticed the front was set on the soft end of the scale

as an aside I had read much about how the s10 had a stellar weight balance therefore masking its weight very well...in this respect to be honest I cant say its any better than the gs except at a stand still, once rolling theyre fairly identical again w the gs feeling more poised and planted

Braking wise lack of abs for the s10 tested aside id say they have comparable power though the bmw has far more feel up front.

Annoying summer heat aside would I sell my gs for it....prob not since ive already set it up to my liking an power delivery aside theres nothing I envyed......however if in the market id probably buy the s10 and rework the suspension and other bits.

Imo the bmw is just as reliable and easier to service even if its at shorter intervals and though parts are more expensive it's hard parts not maintenance items, sadly imo a combination of picky owners and the fact that they've sold a tenfold over the competition has helped over exagerate a few bad eggs.

It's sort of like trading a Toyota Venza for a Mazda CX5-- they're both nice Suvs; now if you were talking a Lambo Urus (aka KTM 1190).... :lol3
