    Liefhebber no longer DQ-ed...

    http://www.rallymaniacs.nl/2013/377-hans-jos-liefhebber-gediskwalificeerd

Hans Jos had a technical issue (chain wrapped around the sprockect) which he couldnt fix. As he was slightly off track no other riders passed by which could assist. He called home and got in touch with the organisation and Hans Jos said he would walk back to the bivvy to collect tools. This wasnt allowed as you have to stay with the bike. Some organisers came round with some tools and after 4 hours his bike was fixed (had to remove the engine to clear the chain).
By this time the stage was neutralised and he couldnt continue on track, so he headed to the next bivvy on tarmac.

The ASO honoured his appeal and he is back in.

    Hell isnt the internet amazing!

We have a little debate here, which is picked up by another forum, and then some guy in Holland publishes an live Rookie Tracker

    All within hours!

Ja, is bloody amazing isn't it.

If only the ASO was as quick as Mischa, he is doing a cracking job on his site, always looking for ways to improve.

My little rant: The bigger the organisation is and the more it controls things the less the public get what they want.

    THANK YOU MISCHA:clap:clap:clap:clap:clap

I believe the rule is if you intend to use one, then you must have it scrutineered... but there is no actual requirement to use one at all.

Thanks a lot to you too! They should hire me to do this for them ;-) I have so many more ideas and took 2 weeks off from work to work on the site. And even that's not enough  It's a pleasure to do this for you all and I hope they allow me to do this in the future too :D

figured you must have had the day off yesterday or something...not sure how AF5O will view that in terms of the unfair advantage it gave you...

If you go back and double check you'll see that I was penalized at the start of the day by sleeping in until about 0930.

Now back to the chatter about Gordon's license plates....

Correct me if I'm wrong but....IIRC....it's a requirement that ALL the vehicles entered in the Dakar have to be titled and registered, is it not?

I have an appeal running with the AF5O to credit me with 271 cliff notes posts. It's eligible under the "rendering assistance to fellow competitors" clause.

They say I didn't push the button on their balise, so it won't count. Frenchies, pff.

Yep, as most liaison are on public roads, all vehicles must be road legal under the laws of the jurisdiction of the origin country.
Same as in WRC, I think I remember Colin McRae losing a rally because the Police stopped him at the liaison with a badly damaged wheel. They didn't let him return to the service zone.

... and once again no words from Helder, he looked quite pissed off.

But we get to see the japanese fuel injection engineer, mr. Junji Miyazaki. He talks, but I couldn't understand a word of it...:D
