Had a look & didn't see anything about this build. Thought some of the ADV types would appreciate it

If you have FaceBook you can vote for this bike to win a contest amongst 10 Custom builders. Yamaha gave each a Bolt motorcycle and set them free. This one in my fave (not normally a fan of Yamaha bikes)

I know this goes against the grain but I kinda liked the Roland Sands flat tracker

the best and the Doc's Chop a very close second.

Looks like a Harley Sportster got a little too friendly with a Triumph Bonneville.

Ya, I hate that intrusive aspect of Facebook apps, very lame. But WTF, it's all public info anyway, just don't put anything on there you don't want public.

I checked out all the contenders and this one by Doc's Chops is easily the most producible and ties in aspects of previous Yamaha models very well. I think it would make a good competitor to the Triumph Scrambler in the market place, I'd consider one as I'm also looking at a Scrambler now.

The belt drive would have to go for sure, but that's super easy for them to take care of. If they offered 2 versions, sorta Bonnie/Scrambler, maybe they can offer a belt on the Bonnie if peeps like it better, but keep a chain on the Scrambler version. They could shorten the swingarm about 1-1.5" to bring it back into proportion.

Most of the others are too wild or would be changed so much in production they'd never come out like the concept.

A couple more angles of it.

    Hello there,
is there a chance that somebody shows the other contenders, too? At best in the angle of the last pic that Dan put here. In Germany, the only customized Bolt that has been shown so far ist the tracker Roland Sands built. I have to admit, that Roland's bike seems a bit out of proportion to me.
The Scrambler very much looks like a bigger version of the ole XT 500 we loved from the late 70-ies til the end of the 80-ies (and still do!). To intensify this impression I'd put a slightly thicker seat on it with it's bottom lined-up to the bottom of the petrol-tank. And I'd fit a just slightly longer rear mud-guard to it. This would enable a better position of rear-light and number-plate, too ( a bit more out to the end of the bike).
But it's a very nice bike and it would be a well-earned winner of the competition.
    Kind regards from Germany, Bambi

    Hello Dan,
thank you very much for your efforts and I do agree with you, that the Doc's Chops' bike is by far the nicest and most promising of the whole bunch!

So why won't a belt work on an adventure bike?

Rocks get between the belt and pulleys and chew both of them up.

Scramblers, the original adv bike. About time they made a comeback, would like to see this and a Sportster version as well.
