I took my bike to a local indy shop today for some work. The proprietor (MotoHank) had just fitted new tires to this guy's bike. He was from Minnesota and had been out in Big Bend National Park. He rode all the way back to the San Antonio area for some work and was about to leave again for Big Bend then to the Northern Cali and the PNW. He was one happy camper. Look at this bike!

If I ever needed to put that much crap on a bike I'd just take my Silverado.

2 years ago when I caught my ex cheating on me, I didn't know what to do. :eek1:eek1:eek1 I Was living 2 hours north of Seattle and worked out of Vegas. I loaded up the GSA with as much crap as I could fit and headed out, in a freezing November rain. Stopped in Seattle at South Sound BMW and bought a warmer jacket. Made it to Portland the first day. The next day, ran south till I cleared the rain then cut over to Coos Bay and spent a couple more days running the coast to LA. Stopped at the RayHyde Ranch for their first ever ADV Days and camped out. Then rode on in to Vegas. Stayed in a crashpad and 2 years later I haven't left Vegas. Best ride and thing to happen to me. I noticed that around 100 mph the steering got light and by 110 I was doing a perpetual wheelie. I only did that a couple times... :evil

I love the dedication to riding but at that point you might as well have a motor home. Although I'm sure they are having a great time. Richard

Talk to anyone who has humped a rucksack and they will tell you how to travel light and fast. This guy below (ex grunt) has a pretty slick kit. Watch the first one, not the update.
