The Pemex building. Its main headquarters? I have been under the impression that the gas stations were nationalized, but Alberto told me the the stations were owned by individuals. They have to buy gas from Pemex. There still must be some type regulation, because when in lesser populated areas you can almost guarantee you will find one every 30 kilometers.

Thanks for the effort of writing for our enjoyment when on your adventure. It's a lot of work to write and post photos from the road and just know all of use in the cold really appreciate living vicariously through you and Cheryl.

I do have one question. I've never been to Mexico when after about 72 hours I didn't have a case of the screamin' bowels! I haven't noticed you mention stopping every 100 yards for a bathroom break so I assume both of you either have iron stomachs or some other secret. Please share your luck, or your secret to staying healthy!

Sheryl or I have had no stomach problems. Sheryl did feel bad for a few minutes one night before dinner, but it was a recurrence of a similar situation she had in the US a few months ago. I think then secret is to eat off the carts, not the nasty gringo tourist restaurants! Glad you are enjoying the RR!

Time for supper, but first a nice margarita!



Unfortunately Sheryl was feeling ill before her dinner arrived! Nice shrimp, rice and salad. I ended up eating most of it, but she did manage to eat a few shrimp I peeled for her. I even took the heads off for her!

Here is my meal, its actually an appetizer, but I got the grande size. Shrimp, octopus, fish, clams, and some other stuff. I told Sheryl that I saw something moving in there once, but I bit it and it stopped!

The husband and wife that ran the place. We thought maybe they were siblings, but they were 18 years old and had been married since they were 15!

Walking back to the hotel! Fortunately, Sheryl had a quick recovery! We had brought some rice and crackers to the hotel and she was able to eat later in the night.

After we had brunch next door to our hotel we headed out for a long walk. Donnie says he thought we walked 192 miles. We first walked along the beach front and then headed to the Centro. It was a distance from the beach. We saw interesting sights along the way and got some good pictures. I enjoyed see the fort and the ships come and go. I was so looking forward to shrimp on the beach but before the food ever arrived I had a sick feeling like I have had a couple of other times. I felt better after awhile and ate 4 shrimp that my darling husband peeled for me. So much for my shrimp dinner! The crackers and rice was good later in our room.
