Ahhhh yes, the sweet purr of a boxer engine is once again vibrating between my loins... er, I mean, I BOUGHT A GS! WOOT! She's a really sweet machine, and I'm glad with my decision, thanks for everyones helpful feedback and help. I went with the 95 GS, White with a all the goodies and farkles to keep me happy and low miles. At first I thought that buying a bike 13 years old would bother me a little, I worry about stuff too much sometimes. The truth is, it feels so much like my GSA 1150's motor that I'd be hard pressed to tell the difference if I was riding with my eyes closed, which I hardly ever do anymore. The 5 speed gearbox is different than what I'm used to, but it's just fine and I was motoring home at 80mph with no problems. Here are some pictures! YAY ME! <table style="width:194px;"><tr><td align="center" style="height:194px;background:url(http://picasaweb.google.comhttp://lh5.ggpht.com/s/v/46.19/img/transparent_album_background.gif) no-repeat left"><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/zarlydoug/MyNewR1100GSZ?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="http://lh6.ggpht.com/_mrFC24WivZ4/SbLu6c-bFGE/AAAAAAAABe4/inqNiydzA60/s160-c/MyNewR1100GSZ.jpg" width="160" height="160" style="margin:1px 0 0 4px;"></a></td></tr><tr><td style="text-align:center;font-family:arial,sans-serif;font-size:11px"><a href="http://picasaweb.google.com/zarlydoug/MyNewR1100GSZ?feat=embedwebsite" style="color:#4D4D4D;font-weight:bold;text-decoration:none;">My New R1100GSZ</a></td></tr></table>
Congratulations on your acquisition of a new older-yet-better GS. The 1100 will grow on you. And they are harder to let go of than the 1150 you had. Cheers!
congrats I picked up a 95 back in june, most fun bike Ive ever owned Ill never sell it. Has 56,000k and runs great.
Congrats!! And, I was just going to say, this guy right up here prolly has some sweet farkles for yer gal!! Ask me how I know!?!?
Thanks! Are there that many of us? Initially I was a little worried getting a bike 14 years old... but it's purring like a kitten and it's awesome to ride. I love it. It was a one owner bike, it's been very well loved and I intend to keep up that tradition. I talk to her out in the garage sometimes... we're bonding.
