So why is it that no one has developed a motorcycle that can safely pull a trailer with a dirt bike on it? Is it a matter of too much weight, too much weight and a high CG, balance on the trailer would cause the cart to bob and weave when going above 60 mph? If one had the necessary skills to do this (metal shop and welder), is this possible? Seems that a nice road beast would be a great way to get your little dual sport or dirt bike to the far reaches of the country when going to a rally.

I know some will say "why do that", but I'm just wondering at this stage why it hasn't yet been done?

    Please flame on :lol3

I've seen others. I suppose it depends on the tow bike and the weight of the trailer/trail bike.

That's what I'm thinking of. It would be much lighter with a dirt bike and the trailer wouldn't have to be so long or heavy.

There just has been such a thread, about surfboards...

Shown my rig overthere, its no problem to propell it to 80 or so without any weave, the carthorse is a beemer with telelever by the way.

That this trailer isn't limited in capacity is demonstrated by my friend Magnabagger

With a good design, you can tow about anything. Check these out:

Single track vehicle were never designed to pull a trailer.
If you DO get it to be stable on the road, it will not behave while making emergency braking/evasive actions. Prolly while no major motorcycle mfg has bike/trailer rigs.
