Jennifer Rickmers is now IN PORT at NEWARK! BTW...I think I dated Jennifer once. Another 6-8 weeks overland and you should have your bike!
Yep. She was in berth at 0600 this am. Customs clearance is the next wait. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
DP... What/who decides whether these ships are brought into the berth...BOW FIRST...or STERN FIRST. See them both ways on Google Earth. Channel (770' wide) is clearly too narrow to TURN around in. Right? LPOL
The load planner for the terminals place the order for what side to. It makes a big difference to them. And your right we cant turn them. So they have to be either backed in or backed out depending what side to. Yesterday I sailed one from there that was 1,149' long by 159' wide with 45' draft. Too big for the Panama Canal. Plenty of them these days. That's not the problem the problem is getting under the Bayonne bridge. We often have under 1' clearance. Not fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
JENNIFER RICKMERS has LEFT the building (berth) and perhaps a BRIGHT SHINY NEW GS. Now on her way to PHILADELPHIA...soon to return to Bremerhaven and ANOTHER LOAD of BRIGHT SHINY NEW GS's!
Necro thread... It seems my bike is in the system and should appear in another week or two. Did they send it via Connestoga wagon?
Yes...the Donner family will be delivering it very soon. PS...they stopped for a snack along the way. UPDATE: I was corrected via PM about my grammar: "they stopped for a 'bite' along the way"
Back to the OP. Just something to think about. I got one of these Black Widow ramps, for those times when I need to haul a bike in my truck. I bolted the sides to the center piece, and it comes with a strap with tie down to hook to your truck and pull tight. Easy one man job to load or unload a bike, no worry or stress. Well worth the $300. I almost learned the hard way. I used to use a couple of 2X10's, came as close as you did to dropping a bike, luckily didn't get hurt in the process. Hope you're mended. Congrats on the new bike. And...there's no way I'd let the first dealer keep your deposit. http://www.discountramps.com/black-widow-motorcycle-ramp.htm?gclid=CJvjzqbwhrUCFQeDnQod328Abg
Makes ordering Donner Kebabs at a Turkish place more amusing, especially if the people you're with get the Donner story without knowing what they're eating
