Just flew out to visit a friend that just moved here. Any suggestions on things to see, do, visit, watering holes? Thanks in advance.
There are some neat sights around Tucson. You can go and see San Xavier Mission just south of town on I-19. There's also the Saguaro Ntl Monument and of course you can take a ride up into the Catalinas and see Sabino Canyon and Mt Lemon. Welcome to AZ Matt
Sabino is tomorrow. Mt Lemon is closed due to snow. On the way to the Desert Museum now. And unfortunately she doesn't have a bike. What I wouldn't give to have the 990 out here right now.
Looks like you were too late for the raptor free flight show at the Desert Museum. VTvfr: Va Tech? Night time? Bars, dollar ballet, couples? By yourself, or with said girl? Airplanes: Pima Air Museum Missile Museum in Green Valley Rent a bike? Lots of good dirt. .
Wander around the university area (Park and University) and 4th Avenue (right down the street) for a spell. Beer joints, bars, eye candy, food, coffee spots, freaks, etc., abound. Something for everyone..... Grab some tickets for tomorrow's basketball game, too! Our home games are a hoot. Dave
Don't know about the night life there now since I haven't lived there in a while nor hung out at night. You may also want to check out Nogales while you're there just to say you did. Can be hectic coming back though, course I guess you need a passport now, but you can see the AZ side. Matt
Barrio Brewery, Congress Hotel (bar and cafe), El Charro downtown, stay away from Nogales, Tubac has a fair art scene, hiking in Saguaro Natl. Park east, if you have a high clearance vehicle go for a ride up Reddington Pass, good views, quiet.
Yeah, found out after we got there that it we missed the flights, bummer. Pretty cool to walk around and see the animals. Yup, we both went there. Graduated about 5 years ago. Had dinner at El Charro last night. Great food. Ran into Gabriel Iglesias there, guy is hilarious.
El Guero Canelo - great mexican fast food. Get yourself a Sonora Sytle Hot Dog with everything on it and a bottle of mexican coke. Trust me on this one. If you want to do a burrito as well then get the medium chicken burro with everything (cheese, cabbage and beans). There's another Guero on south 12th but the Oracle one will do. Find a Nico's (there's about 8 in town) and get yourself a Carne Asada Burrito. Lemme know what part of town your in and I'll direct you there. It's a must "eat" in Tucson. El Guero is on Grant and Oracle intersection, drive north on Oracle and you'll see it on the East (right) side of the road. Hip
El Guero was awesome. I definitely suggest it to anyone that hasn't been. Got the sonora style hotdogs coke and flan. Damn good meal. Thanks Hip. Headin to Pima Museum now.
