I saw that a few days ago. Too bad, because I find it nice and easy for creating routes and doing 'what if' changes. And what they are suggesting, is only useful it you have a data connection. And that app has few features. Oh well, my 2013 version data will be good for years.
that was my first mapping/gps software. microsoft s&t on my laptop, my old magellan 330x gps (slaved to it) and my HAM radio saved my family's back-side west of topeka in 2003 from getting hammered by a super cell.
No, I think it's more a matter of them "refocusing business strategies". Or whatever, I'm no business wizard. Still it's disappointing to see them abandon the market. I did like the product even with bugs. With the latest version I have, you need to edit the exported gpx file. S&T adds a garbage line that screws up the GPS import. With S&T it was easy to select a start/end destination and let it do an initial route. You could then click/drag to shape the route to what you wanted. Basecamp just isn't that friendly. Yeah, there are more online routing options available today but I'm not convinced they are that much better.
Well damn! I always use it to plan my trips and then import into Basecamp to send to the GPS. Also liked the way it printed the maps for backup copies to the GPS. As Worwig says, the data should be good for years.
Huh? I do it all the time with BaseCamp... if you have routable maps installed or your connected GPS has routable maps installed, it works fine.
