I need to replace my levers. i want something shorter and ones that can be adjusted for reach for smaller hands. any suggestions?
I'm planning to buy one of these. I recently bought the cheap $8 DRC levers previously mentioned and I got what I paid for. I bought the "short" levers and found they really weren't very short. Plus, the clutch lever in particular doesn't clear the turn signal controls very well. The amount of force required was more than with the OEM lever. I've since gone back to the original levers. I have read good things about the Righteous Bros units. Probably worth the extra cash.
I bought a Righteous Stunt Metal lever for my WRX and it is a nice unit but you will lose your clutch sensor (No big deal) and your mirror mount. So keep that in mind. I didn't have anything to replace the mirror mount at the time so it went on my YZF instead. Great lever though.
I got in touch with Josh from RSM back in July asking about the clutch switch and his reply was "Quote"I'm hoping to have a clutch sensor switch equipped RSC ready for the public sometime later this year. Probably Octoberish. If so I will probably try something like this for the mirror mount. http://www.moto-heaven.com/store/ZETA-ROTATING-BAR-CLAMP-MH-with-MIRROR-HOLE.html

I've got the zeta levers on mine and they work great. Fully adjustable, with wrenches. And short enough to fit inside hand guards without hitting, but don't flop around like a marionette on the bar like stock ones.
This is to anybody that can give me some advice on smog removal. I just bought a 2011 CA model and didn't realize it until I had trouble putting on a Ricochet skid plate last night due to the carbon canister. I was wondering if there is a good way to bypass this as it will not fit with the new plate. Keep in mind I just bought this and do not have a service manual although it is on order. If anyone knows how to bypass all the emissions stuff I would be open to suggestions. I live in illinois and do not need any of it. Thanks David.
I did mine this way.......................... Unbolt the canister, follow the vacuum line back to the throttle body and pull it off. Plug the port on the TB with a rubber cap (squirrel condom) Use needle nose pliers to put it on. Auto parts stores have them. The other hose is a vent line from the fuel tank. Buy a hose coupler at the same auto parts store, couple on a piece of fuel line, route it back under the motor and poke it out behind the motor. Use tyraps to hold it in place. You loose about a quart of capacity with a CA bike because of the vent. You can push it full if you are careful, but it will drip a little out of the vent line you install when you do. If you just "fill and go" it's not an issue. A couple of drops on the ground isn't a problem for me either. Hope this helps........ Bob
The church sensor is a switch in the clutch lever housing that tells the computer that the clutch is pulled (disengaged) and it is safe to start the bike even though it isn't in neutral. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
These are the clutch and brake levers I am using. They are rather cheap but nice and short. The only problem I have with them is they don't have adjustment in the brake lever to get rid of the bit of play before the brake engages, other than than, very happy with them for the last 4000km or so. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/PAZOMA-C...orcycle_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ab794a43c
No, doesn't matter which gear the tranny is in. Rather, with the sensor wire connected, you must pull the clutch lever in to start the bike. With the sensor disconnected, the starter motor will engage with or without the clutch lever pulled in. It's a safety thing... y' know, it's for pussies. Kind of like the side-stand switch (said the guy who rode off with his kickstand down)...
Thanks Bob I will try that in the mean time im just plugging the hoses with some bolts. Take it easy.
