i'm probably one of HDB smallest customers, i just needed a switch. it didn't quite fit the way i wanted it to mount, so i put in an inquiry to HDB, even though it wasn't their problem. i got a phone call a couple days later...how can we help, maybe we have a different switch that will work better, you can send it back for a refund, etc...this was a $30 order, not a $300 order. i was impressed by that conversation, kept the switch, made it work. it's still on the bike.
I love the HDB setup on my Husky 610. Now off to order a Renzaco seat, seriously, I got to sit on a few at the dealer expo and they are nice. Eric

HDB hand guards are by far the best dam hand guards I have ever owned. I didn't have any issues ordering them and personally they are pretty dam trick. I don't have any clue who owns HDB and clearly have no affiliation with them. I just know from my point of view they are the best hand guards I have ever purchased and will be buying a second set for my 990 soon!
+1 I've had nothing but great customer service from Paul. Actually, better than necessary. How often can you say that?
Look, it's clear to me that everyone (including OP Brian) thinks that Paul and HDB make outstanding products. Heck, my sig line says "Best dual sport mirrors I"ve ever owned". No one disputes the quality of the products. What was in dispute was the quality of customer service Brian received. Fair enough. Maybe he got some confusing answers from Derek or whatever. But after reading through this thread and the head explody stuff It's very clear to me that A) Brian came here first on a public forum bitching and complaining before he ever talked to or emailed Paul. That aint right Brian. B) Once Paul was contacted, he did everything he could to rectify the situatiuon and make it right. To do so, he needed Brian to look at his PayPal invoice. C) Brian has/had no idea what in the hell a Paypal invoice was or how to find it. D) Paul explained to Brian what a Paypal invoice was and where to find it E) Brian found it easier to bitch and whine in public rather than click on the "invoice" tab of his Paypal receipt, because Brian's brand of martyrdom requires an audience. and F) The inmates have resoundingly sided with Paul on this and everyone who has ever dealt with him has agreed that Paul makes the best stuff in the industry, offers the best customer service in the industry, makes every effort to bend over backwards to correct any problems and that Brian must be a high maintenance, attention seeking drama queen.
I recently ordered the hand gaurds from paul He sent them right away and they where an easy install, i emailed him back about adding risers and was responded to very promply I would say Paul is a stand up guy,so from Hobbs new mexico i give him a two thumbs up...
i found HDB and Paul on crfsonly.com maybe in '07 or '08? i need to ask him but i think i might have been the first to post about him here and turned him onto ADV. http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=402991 that's my bike on his website i've been so happy with his gear and it's such a great feeling knowing my transactions support a small business. i need not say any more, others on this thread have already said it all quite well. hopefully i can hook up with Paul again for a ride here in Moab. Kirk Out
I think you are correct. Yours was the first post I ever remember hearing about HDB and the fold-in mirrors. I thought he was based in Utah back then for some reason (now I know better and realize they'd never have him and his foul-mouthed, drinking ways). Then shortly after your ride with him out there, I met Paul on the Jeckyl and Hyde ride here in Colo and his gear has been following me around and attaching itself to my handle bars ever since. I keep falling down, trying over and over again t knock that stuff off my bars, but it's still there on every bike I own.
HI Inmates, Does anyone know how to reach HDB? I've tried the website "contact us" a week or so back and have not heard back. I wanted to know if my KTM ignition switch will fit in the top clamp and what a " 2 lamp or 4 lamp" KTM computer is or what the difference is. I need to order soon as Baja is calling!
Hi SCRider, by any chance is your name Dustin, that's the only email that we've had bounced back in the last week, usually only happens when the email address is mistyped in the form. We can't fit a stock KTM ignition in the top clamp because they are too large on the underside and hit the bars, we can fit the Baja Designs or Sicass Racing ignition switch, that's what we have on the website animation. On the computer mounts the 2 and 4 lamp versions depend on how many indicator lamps are present in your stock configuration, or how many you plan to use. Let me know if that answers your question. If all else fails when trying to reach us you can also reach us at hdb@highwaydirtbikes.com or PM me. Thanks, Paul
I know this is a "public" forum; but, what does having comments removed have to do with violating someone's free speech? This isn't the steps of city hall or an actual PUBLIC space/place. This is a site that someone, who I'm sure is a private individual, set up to share thoughts/ideas/experiences with other like-minded folks. Hence the need to agree to a certain set of rules to participate, which should clue anyone in to it not being a right. It is all too common for people to be confused about what a right really is. Brian went to Vietnam so I could post comments here? Oh, thanks Brian.
Lots of people confuse their right to free speech with a right to take a dump in someone else's living room.
Hi Paul, My Name is Jay. Sorry but I don't understand the 2 & 4 lamp info. What does a lamp do? I have a 2013 KTM 500 exc. Thank you for your help. Jay
Hi Jay sorry about that, hopefully these will help show, this is the area for the key interference, while I had the assembly up thought I'd show it. This is the assembly with a 2 lamp protector, Here's the computer mount animation from the site, it toggles through a Vapor, no lamp, 2 lamp and then 4 lamp, for the EXC if you keep all the lamps, FI, Fuel, High Beam and Turn Signal indicators you'd want the 4 lamp. We'll be introducing a redesign soon that will just mount tabs to the bottom of the mounts, that way we can attach the lamps to the Vapor/Striker/Voyager mounts as well for guys that change out their computers,
I ordered a clamp set for my Xco recently, and Paul did an excellent job answering my questions. There was a slight mix-up in the order in my being sent the wrong top clamp, but as soon as I emailed Paul about it the correct one was in the mail on its way, even before I got the wrong one shipped back. I would say they have an excellent product and great customer service to boot!
