I have asked at apple store, three posts to Garmin and 23 pages of Google searchs all with no definitive answer. Question is this can my 376c Garmin work with a Macbook Air and do I just plug the garmin unit into the macbook? Also how do I download my City Navigator software to the Macbook? I am switching from an old PC notebook and would like to take the Macbook on the road with me to develop routes in the hotel or at the campsite then ride them the next day. These are difficult days for a Ludite.

BaseCamp for OS X works (only) with USB connected GPSes, which includes your 376c, so yes, just plug it in.

If you have a new(er) version of City Navigator, it will include an OS X version of the map set. The older versions can be converted on a Windows PC to Mac format using Garmin MapConverter.
