I came for Royal Enfield information, but here's my current lady...



2009 Genuine Stella two stroke. My main ride, unless it's raining, but starting to consider something a little more powerful for my commute and just keep Stella for errands. Have my eye on a Royal Enfield but looks like it might not be what I need perhaps the search continues.

Your proposed ride of the Enfield, your current ride plus your strap-line, tells us that you like "retro", charm and "relaxed".

Other machines you could consider are Triumph Bonneville twin, Kawasaki W650/W800. Moto Guzzi Breva.

Or a maxi-scooter such as the Honda Silverwing, Burgman or T-Max will do "relaxed", but not the charm or the "retro".

Maxi scooters are definitely not my thing, lol. Yes, I love retro and charm with a twist of badass I guess you could say. Might also be a bit of an attention queen :) Definitely won't be picking up another bike until the spring, so I have some time to decide. I was really into the Royal Enfield but I've heard some unfavorable reviews so I'm wondering if it'll really be worth it. Going to see if I can get my hands on one to test out.

Have you looked at the Suzuki TU250x. It has the retro look of the Enfield but more reliable , faster and cheaper!

Still haven't found a new bike that is retro enough for me, besides the Royal Enfield, because like my Stella, it really just is a new old bike. Honestly I think if I don't go with the RE (or splurge on an HD Iron 883) actual vintage might be the only thing for me. I'm just hesitant to dive into vintage without a solid network to keep it on the road. But, I have not yet explored all options, so who knows.

Haha I'd love to, but I've yet to justify it, plus it's a LOT of bike for the small space I have to maneuver around in.

Triumph Bonneville might be the only thing close enough for me. I'd probably have to go used with one of those though, $6k is about as high as I think I'm comfortable going for something with two wheels.

I've been to Branchville a few times to look at Vespas, haven't been in a few years. I'd love ideally to stick with New Haven Powersports though because they were wonderful when I bought my Stella.

Woo, Tennessee, quite a haul. If I end up with a RE, new, I know I'll return to New Haven Powersports, they were very good to me when I bought my Stella.

Surely the point of having a dealer you can trust, means that issues that you would get with any bike should not bother you too much. Have a test ride.
Choose you own ride and do not take too much notice of men who think they know what is good for you

you like the retro stella, don't have much room, and want more power, sounds like you could be in the market for a vespa gts 300 super. no need for a bike with one of those and you still get cute and stylish!!!

As much as I'd love a more powerful scooter, a twist and go just does NOTHING for me. I can't bring myself to do it.

Do you work for Austin Patterson, or are you just parked in front of their offices?

Nah I just like to take pictures in Southport. Lots of cool old buildings down there and it's a quaint place to stop for a break and relax.
