Got up early to ride up the Chutes, Gold Camp and Buckhorn Cut-off to get a good view of the balloon festival. The picture is terrible, but if you look really close at the horizon you can see the black dots which are the hot-air balloons. :D

One of my favorite views in Colo Springs:

When I got home, I also worked on converting an old, bent tray to accommodate my Pugs.

Here's a close up of the angles that I bolted to the tray. Am I failing to consider any possible engineering flaws? I just need to sew up some heavy webbing straps and I think we're good to go! I am pretty sure the bungees would get shredded.

I've been mountain biking quite a bit lately. Today, I rode from Purgatory down to the Hermosa Creek trailhead with a few friends. The whole ride is fun and incredibly beautiful, but once you get to the single track, that fucking trail is awesome!

Checked out the new Iron Mtn Trail today, riding from Section 16 trail-head all the way to the west end of the Inteman Trail on Ruxton. Great trail we cut there! So nice to finally have it all linked up.

Nice! Is this the section that starts at the Mission Bell and heads NW?

It's the missing link of the Inteman trail that was held up by that guy who owned Iron Mountain and wanted to build houses up there. He finally sold it to the city of Manitou last year.

If headed west on the Inteman from Red Rocks / Section 16, you used to have to go all the way down Crystal Park Rd, then up through the cemetery and snake along behind the High School and through a couple of neighborhoods before climbing up Pawnee to catch the far west section.

Basically, the new trail goes from the top of Crystal Park Rd. to the top of Pawnee, directly linking with the existing trails going east/west from those roads. The eastern half of the new section is a combination of older trail that was never used because it was a dead end, and old service/mining roads. The western half is all new. This new piece of trail now makes it possible to ride from downtown Colorado Springs to downtown Manitou on dirt trails exclusively.

Nice I am going to have to go check that out! I would probably ride up Crystal Park Rd. because I have no idea where it ties into section 16.

Having built a few, I'd say buyer beware. You can get a decent one but its a crap shoot. The last two I built up I would not even test ride. I had the customer sign a waiver, basically saying he knew he would die if he rode it...:rofl.

Seriously though, I have a hard time justifying the cost of some stuff I sell, but few online products direct from China match the quality of Branded products. Even though they literally come right off the same line.

20+ years in this industry and the saying is still the same...

At Gudy's rest on the Colorado Trail outside Durango. Looking down valley towards the southern terminus of the CT. Great riding.

I put the Pugs in it's element yesterday. As I was riding around the Catamount Loop, I noticed long sections of gently sloped shoreline along North Cat. To quote Modest Mouse, "... and we'll all float on, alright!"

Oh yeah… I remember knocking her over. Tell her I'm sorry.

No… did not see her but what a great run that would be - if I ran that is.

That must have been last week. She tripped and fell around Gudy's rest, and after her run I took her to the ER to get a few stitches.

Same here. My brother is currently at Interbike, and if he can find me a good deal, my decision may be made for me.

My reasons for picking the Pugs were for versatility. 135mm hubs, 100mm BB cranks, etc... This link is specifically comparing the Pugs and Moonlander, but the same could be said of many of the latest 5'' tire rigs. Although, one could point out that there will probably never be a front suspension fork compatibility with the Pugs...
