I needed to ID a bolt recently and found these tools on the web, very handy....bolts and threads are printed full size so it is easy to match them up...metric and SAE are available (and I do realize this can also be done w/ calipers, pitch gauges, etc...) http://www.boltdepot.com/fastener-information/Printable-Tools/Default.aspx
That IS slick! Thanks! Be aware, though, that, even with scaling turned off, some printers may not print a 1 inch line that it, well, an inch long . . . . . . . suggest a trail of your printer first, before going to the hardware store and returning with stuff that *almost* fits.
you are welcome! The printouts include a ruler so you can check if they scaled correctly, came out OK for me but the site does warn that some software, browsers, printers, etc. may not scale them correctly as you said so the printed ruler should be checked against a real one
