Los Lunas, NM Endurocross Event - Jan. 2nd

Just a heads up that there will be an Endurocross event in Los Lunas, NM on January 2nd. Event starts at 9:00 am. There will be three classes (Novice, Amateur, and Expert Open Classes) for 125cc and up bikes running two heat races, a LCQ, and the Main Event. Also will be a freestyle ride exhibition by MotoArmy. Adult spectator entry fee is $10 and kids 12 and under are $5. Location of the track is at the VCC Expo Grounds behind the Los Lunas Wal Mart off the Highway 6 exit in Los Lunas, NM (west side of I-25 - can see the track from the freeway).

I've heard the track is awesome with tires, spools, logs, telephone poles, dug out trenches, and boulders, boulders, boulders! This is a first attempt at this and if there is any interest they might try to secure some land to build a more permanent track to keep it going.

Hope this event turns out well. It would be cool to see this grow in NM!

No, just trying to encourage you! It's for 125cc and larger...your bike just squeaks through!
I haven't seen the track yet, but it was built by a friend of mine and I've heard it's way cool!

I'm trying to get the day off of work. I want to enter. Not sure if I'll be able to. We're supposed to do a physical inventory weekend and rearrange the showroom to make room for the Husky's.

I wish I had known about this sooner. ....
Since not much was happening in ABQ on the 2nd, I am headed to Denver to check out Fay Myers and pick up my free t-shirt.

The sales staff at Fay Mayers has to be the worst in the state of Colorado IMHO. Have fun in Denver. Cookie and I are going to try to make it out for part of this. I leave at 2:10pm to go back home so we will need to leave early. Gordy are you riding in this one? If not I hope to sse you and Deb.

I really want to and may still, but I am not riding, let alone racing this old body in teen and twenty degree temps. If by some chance it warms up a little, I may pay the entry fee to just ride it and stay out of the way! We are experiencing way colder than normal temps, but I have no idea why they plan stuff like this at this time of the year.

I guess they figure if you are <strike>dumb</strike> tough enough to ride EnduroCross, a little cold should not matter! oser

They were still working on the track today. It was still poco frio and another front is coming through later this week. I hope that some kind of warmer weather shows up for everyone on race day.
