So we are planning our MS ADVers Annual New Years Day - Start The Year Off Right - Ride! :clap :vardy

EDIT: PLAN IS TO DEPART FROM PBTP (Pelahatchie Bay Trading Post) on Hwy 471, just north of Hwy 25, KSU at 8AM.
They have ethanol free gas and hot breakfast available, so arrive early if you wish to partake of these offerings.

Please be prepared for an all day ride in cold, wet, rainy, muddy conditions. We will be riding a mix of paved, gravel, forest service, and other dual-sport roads. Please have cash available in case a gas stop does not take plastic.

Lunch ia planned for the same Mexican place in Meridian we stopped at last year. Some route changes have been made since last year, so there will be some new roads and some from last year.

More information to come or post up questions if you have them...

I voted for two options. I'm always up for doing donuts in trophy's yard but that's not an all day event. Let's do that on the way out or the way back in. :D

I voted "I'm with you fellers," since I'm not 100% this year.

    I'm in.

I will just ride my DR so it doesn't really matter which route we take.

Depends on which way we go.... our two most common start points are PBTP and Heart & Soul cafe... That will be announced later as more things fall into place.

Do we need to stop by and do PM on your bike to make sure it is ready so you don't invent some fault when your delicate flower petals get cold?

I am in on the DR650 but be forewarned I still don't have a big fuel tank on it. Stock 3.4 gallons.

How many miles does that get you? The big KTM's usually only got 125-150 on a tank, I think. I don't think anywhere we go on any of these routes is over 100 miles with no gas at least close by, if not on the route.

Oh, and the Tiger had it's first taste of mud last night on 12 Oaks Trace picking up the local tag. Forgot how much it rained earlier this weak and the road was all torn up from hunters in big trucks. I could have turned around, but what's the fun in that? One of the teenage-prick-spoiled-brats in a jacked up F150 came around a corner drifting and spraying mud and saw my bright lights coming at him. He almost lost it in the ditch trying to get it back under control and as soon as it straightened up, he floored it again. :boid

Backroads off the highway about 120 on a tank. I never had any issues with fuel out west but I won't go back without a 5 gal tank:wink:
