Why would you put a bike in basement for winter - gee, that's just when all the fun starts here in Oz. Yes, I know, the temp drops down to a freezing 15 degrees Celcius but, obviously, we are made of tougher stuff............:lol3 :lol3

I,too, would love to have a Tenere over here...

If I had studs (and a garage, that I don't have atm..) I would have it all year around. Winter time is play time like crazy guy Niclas Granberg aka NORRLAND @ adv shows in this clip. It's filmed not far from here.

Pic: Road trip up to Lannavaara, will never use Tourance tires again:

Posts 2 and 7 by inmate Gib... looks like "real" knobbies to me.

Sure, YFF tease us with a bike we can only see on the net... I was perusing Yamaha's website here, and they have TWENTY NINE variations of cruisers.. and NO D-S bikes over 250 cc. You'd think they'd bring this one here, and the TDM...

I know this is The Wrong Question for this bike type, but what's it's top
speed? I'm guessing 100mph is doable?

I was wondering at which speeds (and RPMS in last gear) the ride gets
shaky, and how smooth it is at 70mph (comparison to other singles is
welcome). I'm guessing it's fine up to around 4000 rpm for cruising?

Here's my blue one, picked it up on saturday.

Drove 140 km/h yesterday and I believe that was around 5500 rpm. Havn't tested the top speed since it's still quite fresh.

It is super smooth at 70mph, I usually cruise at 120-130km/h (~80mph) with no vibrations at all, the only thing that is a bit annoying is the turbulence from the upright windshield.

Been past 110mph on the meter but I don't know the accuracy and I have no GPS to test it.

Edit: On default the bike is a bit too high on the gears so many owners switch to smaller front sprockets. The torque peaks at 5500rpm and that's where you want to be if you want to get past lorries on the freeway (so you usually have to knock it down a gear).

    Thanks!
    :clap

I was actually expecting lower gearing, this sounds good to me.
