they are close to each other, the B-M trailhead is also off 68 and just a little north of the Trl82 trailhead, or maybe that's the John Muir trailhead... fuck, I'll go check it out and double check tomorrow..

The hiking and horse trails share the bike trail for about 4 miles, I don't believe that your bike has to be plated, we have hauled our dirt bikes to it several times...

A point of clarification: Bikes need to be plated on any and all forest service roads (anywhere a truck can go)...That excludes the two motorcycle designated trails in the CNF.

    In short RockBreaker is correct.

    Still a KTM guy? Racing?

    LOL, Good Point!

So the 640Adv is leading another Tellico Adventure Trail "spur of the moment" ride cuz a buddy of mine wants to get in one more dirt ride this year. So he is coming up Thursday 13 Nov.

We will ride at least Friday through Sunday no doubt, anybody else want to join in the fray is welcome.

I'll be there, but I won't be able to stay if you guys were planning on riding afterwards. I'm going to the Tennessee game at 4:00.

    Hey guys,

I found some cracking in my tires (first bike) so I want to have them replaced. Do you guys have suggestions of places to get tires put on? Also do you guys order tires online and take them over, or just get them from the shop? Lastly, I'm in West Knox and can easily go to Lenoir City if there is a shop over there.

Bike is a Kawasaki 650R if it matters.

    Thanks

Willis Cycle Works. He does top notch everything. He's located behind Biker Rags on Kingston Pike. Tell him I sent ya.

    You aren't JB, are you?

    Nope, not JB.

I saw that pop up in the google. Does he have tires and stuff? Or do you get yours online and take them over?

He has them, and if not he will either order them or you can provide them.

I've done both. I've had him order them and I've taken some to him.

There's also Dual Sport Touring in Maryville with Corbin walking distance away to install them.

Yep. And both will be less expensive if you bring just the wheels.

True. Both are excellent. I recommended Brian as you mentioned you would like someone in west Knox or the big LC.

    Thanks guys.

I'm actually all for giving the locals a chance to help a brother out. And since Brian is close to me, if he does me right, it will be my go to shop for the future. I also like that I could take my wheels and tires to him in the future. Discount Tire lets me do that on my car and Jeep so I like that option.

I don't have motorcycle stands yet, (that was a down the road, after Christmas, purchase) so I will have to take it in this time. Unless there is a magic combo of atv jack, kickstand, jackstand, and cinderblock... I will leave it to the pros this time.

I currently don't have a stand either. Have used a tall milk crate and 2x4 to get one end off the ground. For both I would definitely want something to stabilize it.

I've been known to use my cherry picker to raise the bike and work on things. Of course it helps if that holds hydraulic pressure. :eek1
