    Hey guys,

My family loves deciding vacations at the last minute. This year, I'm treating them to a few nights of lodging. I'd LOVE to spend this New Year's in the Smoky Mountains area!

It'll be about a 10 hour drive from Chicago, but I am thinking about leaving Thursday night (ie. 12/30), getting to about Kentucky, sleeping in a cheap motel, then hitting up the rest of the ways the next day. We will drive back to Chicago on Sunday.

Does anyone have any cabin rentals available? I've been looking for a few hours now, but I can't find any cabins that don't cost more than $200 a night for those two nights. By the way, we are a group of 5, but I will be more than happy to sleep on the floor with my sleeping bag :clap

I remember reading about someone here with a house rental all year long...I wish I remembered who it was or what they thread was titled, but I don't.

If anyone has any leads on this, please let me know ASAP. Thanks so much!

Try VRBO for what ever Town is closest to the area you want to stay.

I have stayed here before and it's real nice. It's real close to Snow Shoe resort too if you like to ski. however, it might be too short a notice to get one though.

    Thanks for the reply guys!!

Unfortunately, my family vetod the 10 hour drive out there...:cry

But I'm definitely going to keep this thread handy for next time I am out there! I realized I absolutely love that area :clap

Thanks again guys and Happy Holidays!
